Publisher's summary

JENSEN PROUD. JENSEN TOUGH.

It's the dawn of a new century. But on the vast Sugarloaf Ranch not much has changed since legendary gunfighter Smoke Jensen and his wife Sally tamed the land two decades ago. Raising cattle is still a dangerous business - and just as deadly as ever. When Smoke is injured swapping bullets with some cow thieves, Sally puts out a call for help to Matt, Ace, and the rest of the Jensen clan. But time is running out. The bloodthirsty rustlers are ready to strike again - and there are lots more of them. And the Sugarloaf's last defense is Smoke and Sally's next of kin....

Enter the Jensen twins. Denise and her brother Louis have just returned home from their schooling in Europe. Louis is studying to be a lawyer and is too sickly to defend the ranch. But Denise is to the manor born - she can ride like a man, shoot like her daddy, and face down the deadliest outlaws like nobody's business. And there'll be plenty of opportunity to prove she's got Jensen blood in her veins-cold, deadly, and playing for keeps....

Great contribution to the Jensen Saga

I really enjoyed this book. I am glad to have the Jensen saga continue with this new series with Smoke’s kids grown. I also liked the introduction of Brice Rogers as a new character in the series, providing romantic tension between him and Smoke’s daughter Denny.

The story was enjoyable. An outlaw with a grudge trying to get revenge, but the twist being how Denny and Brice work together to thwart his efforts. I look forward to more in the series.

Long-time Jensen fans should be aware that “A High Sierra Christmas”, while not technically a part of this series, takes place chronologically between Books 1 and 2 of this series.

Lousy smoke jensen book

Lame Jensen story. Downright embarrassing. Smokes kids are nothing special to a smoke jensen adventure. A pure disappointment and waste of a credit

Another great book by William W Johnstone and JA Johnstone

William W Johnstone and JA Johnstone give us a thrilling story where we are introduced to Smoke Jensen’s children who have that same grit as there father. Very exciting story throughout the entire book.
I would highly recommend this title.

Attack on the Sugarloaf.

Cattle wrestlers messed with cattle on the land of the Sugarloaf Ranch owned by Matt Jensen. This ranch was the property of the well known ex-gunslinger, Smoke Jensen. It was believed he was the fastest gun in the West in his day. Even though he had settled down, married and now owned the largest spread near the town of Big Rock, Colorado, occasionally someone thought they could make off with a herd of cattle. Some rode into town just to take on the noted former gunslinger, Smoke Jensen, but they were now buried in the cemetery just outside of town. The boss, Nick Clayton and his hard case gunslingers had been wrestling cattle from Matt lately he suspected.

To make things interesting, Smoke Jensen and Sally's two off-spring were on their way to the Sugarloaf Ranch by a inbound train. They were returning from europe where they had spent most of there childhood.
The reason being Lloyd's health and she accompanied him to with him and attend Finishing School to learn etiquette training for young laddies. They were twins, but their traits were totally different. Louise was more the tom boy where as Louis was more into law and set his sites on being a Lawyer.
Denrise, Deny as she was liked to be called felt right at ease at a the ranch before she left and was eager to return now that her brother was feeling well.

Nick Clayton would soon find out Matt Jensen and his family was not one's to mess with.

I like the Western stories Mr. Johnstone writes and I like his Narrator, Jack Garrett. This book was narrated by, a newbie to me, Danny Campbell. I have never heard him, but I had to give him a try. I think I will be sure and stick with Jack Garrett in the future. Mr. Campbell sounds the same for all characters. I got use to Matt's voice, by Jack and I just had to tough it throught this book. Mr. Campbell has a scratchy, horse sound in his voice and it bugged me.

If you are a Jack Garrett fan, I think you may have a hard time with this Narrator. I still am going to give Mr. Johnstone five stars, for I liked The story line just the same.
