Publisher's summary

Two of the Johnstones’ most legendary heroes—the rugged mountain man known as Preacher and the Scottish clan rancher Jamie Ian MacCallister, here together for the first time—are forced to choose sides in a blood-soaked battle for the heart and soul of a nation divided.

As the father of a young Crow tribesman, Preacher would like nothing more than to see the long-time natives and newly arrived settlers live together in peace. Then the killing starts.

As a family man and frontiersman, Jamie Ian MacCallister is more than happy to help the officers at Fort Kearny negotiate a peace treaty with the Crow nation. Until it all goes to hell.

This is not the American dream they were looking for. This is a nightmare. A brutal, blood-drenched frontier war that two heroic men must fight and win—or one struggling nation will never come together. For liberty and justice for all.

Performed by Mort Shelby, Mike Carnes, Robb Moreira, Evan Casey, Michael John Casey, Bradley Foster Smith, Jacob Yeh, Scott McCormick, Nora Achrati, Richard Rohan, John Kielty, Terence Aselford, Joey Sourlis, Ken Jackson, Matthew Schleigh, Tia Shearer, Todd Scofield, Rayner Gabriel, Eric Messner, Steve Wannall, Rose Elizabeth Supan, Brandon Burton and Earl Fisher.

Preacher and MacCalister

Story was good, reading good. My only issue was that the voice for Jamie wasn't the same as the Eagles series. Which I just listened to the entire series so I'm used to that voice actor for Jamie and Falcon lol. But this voice was fine if you didn't have those expectations.

Frontier America

This is a good book with Jamie and Preacher working together. Jamie is helping some troops get to the Indian camp. Preacher is there. A smart aletk leunitent wants a war. Jamie and Preacher tries to keep it from happening. There is a good storyline in this book. And a lot of information on how things worked back in this era. There is several narrators in this book. Mountain Men save the day

I liked the the Johnston's put together two of their best Mountain Men in Ian Jaime McAllister and Preacher. I liked this book because both men were come together from different directions. I loved the character Big Thunder. The baddies of Sgt O'Donnell and LT Denison (?) were well written. The ending was a surprise, which is always good writing.

I must like preacher.

I'm fascinated with the writers. I'm enjoying his views of the Mountain Man. I give kudos to the authors

Great story but.....

The voice of the presenter was totally bogus. My family have lived in the area this book was placed since the 1870’s Believe me no one had diction as the presenter had.
