Megan Keeler died years ago - or so everyone believes. In fact, she disappeared to escape from her sadistic husband, Glenn. When dismembered body parts were found near their home, Glenn was convicted of his wife's murder. And Megan, terrified for her unborn child's safety, never came forward with the truth....

Since then, Megan has built a new life in Seattle for herself and her son, Josh. She's never forgotten that she's a fugitive, and Josh knows nothing about her past. But someone does. First, there are anonymous emails and threats, just as she learns that Glenn has been released from prison. Then the unthinkable happens: a masked man breaks into their home and abducts Josh....

To save her son, Megan must put herself at the mercy of a maniac. Is Glenn a cold-blooded killer determined to destroy her world piece by piece, or is the truth even more twisted? Megan thought she knew fear, but her nightmare is only beginning....

I think TERRIFIED by Kevin O'Brien is a very good book. I also think it's a little formulaic and kind of predictable. There's the abusive husband and the wife who runs with false identification who shortly after finds out that she's pregnant. The monkey wrench to her plan is a third person psychopath who also wants her and is murdering women he has kidnapped as substitutes.
This is not a new book and listening to his then compared to now style of writing is kind of interesting.
Again, good book. Not in my top ten but certainly worth listening to.

Good not Great...

Kevin O'Brien has a unique and interesting way of psychologically terrorizing listeners and his characters. His writing may be too long for some, but to get the plot and backstory into play, it is necessary. He is my new favorite author! I've listened to this book in one day - it was that good!

Chilling!

I enjoyed this book as always his books are good but his continual use of the word toward really annoyed me it must have been one of his first books I guess because I don't think he's made that mistake in any others I have done

Stop with the word toward

Kevin O’Brien is my new favorite author. He writes fun, twisty mysteries that keep me hooked.

Another great twist

This was a fun book (for dark minds) that I didn’t want to stop listening to. The storyteller dared to get pretty gritty with a scary villain (s) and gruesome crimes. I was a little judgy of the protagonist at times, thinking she should have behaved differently, but that’s every thriller I read. Tiny things that annoyed me (like a woman in her 40s is sooo unsavvy at texting—is she gen x or 98 lol—or a couple unlikely false alarms) were easy to get past given the general cleverness of the plot. Especially considering this was an audible plus freebie—this was so worthwhile.
