Darker and dirtier than ever before. Best-selling author Trilina Pucci brings you an alpha hero, Dominic King, that breaks the mold. Get ready to swoon over this instalove story.

The moment I saw her, I wanted her. I just didn't expect to want to keep her. But then she walked away. She should've known better. I'm not the kind of man you turn your back on. I'm ruthless, powerful, and unforgiving.

Something she'll soon find out.

I will own her. Body and soul. Consume her while she begs for it. What started as one night will become forever. And I'll destroy anyone that gets in my way.

Drew Matthews is mine.

Contains mature themes.

I was drawn to this book because I love Troy Duran's narration! I also love steamy romance and am always eager to try new-to-me authors, which Trilina Pucci is. I did not realize from the book description exactly how "steamy" it was. It focuses on Dominic King, who owns restaurants, hotels and sex clubs. Upon noticing Drew in one his clubs, Dominic is immediately taken with her and they spend one hot night together engaged in rough games involving dominance and submission, among other things. In that one night, it is clear they are falling for each other, though neither of them is willing to admit it. Drew in particular pulls away. She has just let go of a year-long relationship filled with verbal cruelty and humiliation and wants to find her true self and strength before allowing someone new into her life.

The novel is very well-written and engaging. I loved all the characters in this book, and I loved seeing Drew and Dominic's relationship develop and falter. Although I wasn't aware of the rough aspect upon starting the book, I was intrigued by the level of the sexuality because it is not what I'm usually drawn to, and I sometimes like to read or listen to something completely out of my comfort zone. I must admit though, that after a while, it did get to be a bit too much for me, but that's me. Sometimes I felt the sex overshadowed the rest of a great story, including Dominic's background, which I would love to learn more about. That doesn't deter me from recommending the book though. I definitely do and I will certainly check out more of Trilina's work. My overall rating is 4.5, 5 for performance, and 4.5 for story.

Troy Duran's narration was superb, as always, and Kelsey Navarro was amazing as well! She's new to me, but I will be following more of her work in the future.

As the book started out I was afraid I had chosen the wrong book because I hate when a man treats a women like it was in the first few chapters BUT then along came King and saved the day. Narration was spot on

How has no one ever mentioned Dominic King to me?!? He’s IT!!! He’s right at the top of my fave book bfs and so is this book! I LOVE Trillina’s more recent work, so I decided to give this one a go on Audible..sooo good! Kings character is fire and exactly what I would find at my local neighborhood sex club 🤣 but I digress. Drew is a tough FMC and the way she becomes the ying to his yang so fast gave me all the goosebumps. Purchasing the next one cuz I’m hooked!

Where have I been?!?

Kelsey Navarro's narration is nothing short of fantastic! She made the story sound like a conversation rather than a script being read and her delivery was excellent! The story is an "instalove" story, and it wasn't quite what I was expecting, but it was better in some ways and just alright in others. I'm all for fantasy books, but this one was straight out of a woman's daydream and it was very nearly a fairytale. There were also some kind of overly-cheesy lines that made me cringe a little bit, but it's alright, it's just a story. It was a bit of a dark romance, I suppose, but it was mostly a bunch of heavy petting with only one or two actual encounters. Either way, I loved this woman's strength of character. I laughed so many times when she told people off, and she was such a boss that I just enjoyed her so much. The complexity of her felt real, such a stark comparison to the rest of the characters and plot. That was what made the story seem too easily resolved and too short. There was no actual dissention here. Just a woman that needed a month to get her life together. I don't really understand why there wasn't more to it than that when you get down to brass tacks, but I found that a little lacking because it could have been so,so much more. Would have loved to see some thrilling action scenes with crazy stuff happening because of King's protectiveness and past. Things do happen, but overall these two people are just well-adjusted individuals that had some baggage to work through. There were some [small] surprises, but again, both of them handled most situations well. Not normally, but well. It was equally refreshing and boring at times, which made me feel confused about it at some points. I suppose I'm going to chalk this one up to a very good book that could have been amazing if the characters weren't so damn well-adjusted. I can't help but like it anyway though, even with my criticisms, partially because of the amazing narration. I'm not sure if I'll get the next one yet.

Phenomenal narration and a fairytale plot
