This was wonderfully unexpected. The story line continues from the first book and doesn’t disappoint! There were just as many twists and turns as the first book.

The only disappointment is the tension between characters that somehow dissipates without anyone actually dealing with any of the traumatic events that occur. This could have been better developed.

No smut! Just a great story with a little romance.

The narrator is wonderfully talented in every respect save one…she pronounces the word “forward” as “FUHWARD”. It made me cringe each time she spoke it. It detracted from the story line and characters. I am irked that the director/producer did not see fit to correct this error.

A lot of time was spent with Alaya learning how to wield her power, but it always left her weak, requiring her to accept help from someone she was skeptical about, unsure of their intentions. I was excited that a dragon was added to the mix!!

This book! My goodness! The intensity and the emotion in every scene kept me engaged from beginning to ending. Can hardly wait to listen to book 3.

This was very well written and extremely well narrated. I’m very excited for the third book and I’m very grateful to the author and narrator for creating such an interesting story with such deep characters that I fallen in love with.

I cant stand heroine because she comes off to me as always taking the easy way out. She is literally saying let me let the devil manipulate me and control me because its easier than finding another way to recover from using her magic. I can't believe this guys has gotten his way all through the story and everyone is just letting him get his way. Someone should have already separated his body from his head in my opinion but this is just me and I am not the writer. It's just irritating watching this guy get his way so easily. She doesn't have a voice she just goes along with what the devil says all the while he is leading her to hell and she is willing following him.

I adored this second installment of the Serpents and Kings series! Jesse does a fantastic job bringing these characters to life. She's also incredibly consistent in their voices from the first book through the second! Can't wait for book 3! I highly recommend this series!

I’m just finishing book 2 and going to start the third as soon as I finish writing this. This series is a lot more amazing than I had ever anticipated! I read the first on Kindle and was immediately drawn in, this second book was no less intriguing and well written. I’m hoping the third is just as good…

I loved Jesse Vilinsky’s narration for this series! The character arcs and plot were both satisfying. I do wish the final battle was more substantial, but what can ya do. Looking forward to the next installment!
