Publisher's summary

It didn’t matter that the ref called it a clean hit. Nico Hunter would never be the same.

Elle has a good life. A job she loves, a great apartment, and the guy she’s been dating for more than two years is a catch and a half. But it’s boring…and she strives to keep it that way. Too many emotions are dangerous. Her own past is living proof of what can happen when you lose control.

Then Nico walks into Elle’s office and everything changes…for both of them. But what can the tattooed, hard-bodied MMA fighter and the beautiful and always steady attorney have in common? A lot more than they bargained for.

An enjoyable MMA romance with a fantastic audio!

Randomly came across this book looking for an MMA romance and completely loved this one! It was an insta connection, between Elle, who is a lawyer and Nico, an MMA fighter. They first meet in a boardroom to discuss a contract he wants out of. Nico doesn’t hold back and instantly lets it known they he wants her. While Nico is a gentlemen when it comes to Elle, things don’t take long to heat up and there is a lot of good spicy romance!

Despite this being an insta love kind of story, you quickly learn that the characters have depth as well with tortured pasts. The storyline is truly a story of healing for the MMC and Elle is the right person for the job due to her history. I just loved how these 2 were meant for each other and have a history that connects them in a way. This was my first book from Vi Keeland and I cannot wait to read more!

Absolutely loved Andi Arndt & Sebastian York for this narration! Their voices fit the characters perfectly and made it so enjoyable to listen to!

... AND WORTH THE CREDIT

An enjoyable first in a series that’s eight years old.. was it Vi Keeland’s best book ever? IMO no because this talented author has grown and honed her skills a lot more since writing this book. Elle has an underwhelming two year ‘friends with benefits’ once a week with William and she’s got a successful career as a Lawyer.. but everything is just boring.. boring, blah and dull. That is until a handsome tattooed MMA Champion walks into her life which sparks an instant sizzling connection.. and Elle’s heartbeat picks up, she’s breathless and she can’t look away from the man who’s making her melt. And I loved Nico and Elle’s insta-chemistry, their passion and it felt like these two were well-matched and were meant to be together. But unfortunately, deep in the baggage of their histories, dark emotional trauma is ready to dent, damage and/or ruin their beautiful relationship if they let it. Two likeable characters.. Nico is a sexy, possessive, hot alpha hero but he’s weighed down by guilt and sorrow and Elle has buried her guilt, shame and memories in layers of passive living. The ghosts that haunt this pair must be exhumed and exorcised before they can forgive themselves, move forward and make new memories together. Not a lot of MMA fighting,. light drama and some angst.. but plenty of sexcapades, sweet, tenderness, passion, heartache and love. Great dual POV narration by Andi and Sebastian fit the characters perfectly. WORTH A CREDIT? Yes., it had heart and soul.

loved!

This was a really great story. Once I started I hated to stop to sleep or anything else. Really enjoyed their background and how it helped them be together and understand one another.

No depth

I'm sorry to say that this book just seem to skip and jump to fast without giving back story or depth. I enjoy the narrator's and Corrine Michaels is part of my collection. This story just seem to fall short from other books I listen to.

Not worth my time.

I usually love Vi Keeland, but this was just boring and predictable. Sebastian York narrated about 20 minutes of the entire book, and honestly...that was a disappointment to me.
