Publisher's summary

WESTCOAST CHRONICLES In the third of the 'Westcoast Series, we explore the exciting events and history of Victoria and British Columbia's west coast through the last half of the 1800's. To tell this tale, we follow the life of 'Vickie, the precocious daughter of Maggie and Mark Holland, who we met in the first volume, Westcoast Legacy. A life filled with change and challenges, during periods of growth that included epidemics, gold rushes, race-riots, opium, gambling and whore houses. We see Vickie confronting all of these with a modern, sometimes controversial approach, determined to change the status quo and improve the life of women.

Excellent Historical Trilogy - Beautifully Told!

I've listened to all three of the Historically fact driven Stories written by Ian Kent in this 3 book series and marvel at the time and research it must have taken in the creation of these books, stories well-woven and genuinely connected with full family lives and living! Congratulations on this endeavor!
I thoroughly enjoyed each and every book as I have always liked reading of/thinking about our ancestor's travels and arrivals to a new land, and trying to understand the unfathomable challenges they lived, in dealing with the new world of this country.... Except for the Indigenous Souls of this land, We All came from somewhere else, and I applaud and appreciate the author's asides, in speaking to the audience, in reminding us all how incredibly courageous it was for the characters he was writing about to embark on such daily unknowns .... and how Lucky we are!
Beautifully narrated by a dear friend, Monica M. Wemitt is a incredible actress with the voice of an Angel, And her reading with the characters' personifications is a work of art here, too ...many nations and cultures are woven in this slice of life history in the telling. And her reading of so very many characters is easy and happy and joyful to hear. I highly recommend this book, and the two books that led up to this one, too! Thank you for creating this series!

This narrator and author are a true match!

Monica Wemitt can turn any story into a masterpiece! Her narration skills are nothing short of amazing! She does an outstanding job of identifying each individual character with their unique accents and tones of speech. In the end, the reader feels as if he, or she is friends with each of the characters… as usual with all the audiobooks, she narrates, Monica Wemitt treats us so much more than an audiobook, this is a true audio experience!

In this case, the author was able to weave historical facts and fiction together and tell us a seamless tale! As in the earlier, two volumes, attention is caught with the first sentence, and continues through this book!
