Publisher's summary

A KILLER HUNTS HIS VICTIMS . . .

A sinister executioner in the grip of frenzy. Self-realized with a penchant for butchery, he finds pleasure in the vicious murders of those most vulnerable and calls himself "The Sandman."

A DETECTIVE PULLED INTO A WORLD HE THOUGHT HE LEFT BEHIND . . .

It has been three years since Detective Jonathan Stanton solved the most brutal murder in San Diego's history, and as a result found himself in the middle of the worst police corruption scandal in memory. Choosing a less high-profile position, Stanton is nevertheless reluctantly dragged into the violent world of The Sandman.

JON STANTON MEETS HIS EQUAL . . .

The Sandman is clever, ruthless, and cautious. He leaves no evidence in his wake and takes a morbid interest in those that chase him. Believing Stanton to be his parallel, he finds an affinity for the detective. One that Stanton may not survive.

Pretty good story

Not a bad Jon Stanton book. Didn't really care too much for the narrator, but overall not too bad. Wish there were more audio books available. RC Bray did one, but can't find it anywhere.

Love the series

I really enjoy listening to Jon Stanton's series . I just want to ask this, how many more injuries does he need to endure? I mean how is he still in one piece after book 2?!

Gripping, Chilling and Unforgettable!

In true “Methos” style Victor renders a story that will chill the reader to the bone. He carefully sculpted each character in distinct relevance to the story line. Graphically describing events that the minds eye cannot escape. He finishes it off with a cliff-hanger ending.

The narration is spot on - I am a fan of Ezekiel Robinson’s talent!

Always like this author.

The book was good. Ending didn’t resolve the law suit and takes a deal of faith concerning the survival of the main character

Poor narrator choice, but story is good

After listening to the first book in this series, I was disappointed to hear a different voice narrating. I hate when authors do that because you have someone in your head as the character from the previous book. In this instance, I picture Jon Stanton as a burly manley man and the voice in this one was to feminine for the character in my opinion.

I just wish his books were longer ...

This is one of the books from the Jon Stanton series written by Victor Methos. As always his books are consistently well written, fast paced and believable. I always find myself wanting more when I listen to one of his books as they generally are on the shorter side.
This book is excellent with a really great twisted and completely unexpected ending. The Jon Stanton series is fantastic especially The Arsonist.
I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED this book, series and author!

Great Book 2, but what about the rest of the series?

I really enjoy the Stanton series. The only gripe I have is that if you want to complete any Victor Methos series, it’s tough to do that on audible. I would really prefer if they offered a complete series. They also tend to change narrators around which is tough as a fan to listen to back to back books. Stanton should have one voice.

Did not expect Religion

Sounded like a good story but it’s full of Mormon religion which didn’t show up in the story blurbe. Very disappointing!
