Excellent court room drama from start to finish
Highly recommend this book. The narrator was exceptional.

Engaging performance. Really enjoyed the story. The pace was consistent and really held my interest. From bedtime speaker to air pods, to Bluetooth speakers. Can't wait to start the next in the series.

Time of Justice (Mara Brent Legal Thriller Series Book 1) by Robin James is about a lawyer named Mara Brent who is a tough and brilliant prosecutor who tackles tough cases. Her latest case is an unsolved case involving a close friend of hers. Her friend was brutally raped and left for dead. Twenty years and no clue. Then they get lucky because the serial rapist struck again. This time Mara wasn't going to let him get away with it.

The negative aspect I saw was the book started slow. It was hard to get into it at first. I would've started with the rape and then jump to the present. It would've had a better impact on the reader.

What I loved about the novel was Robin James made her protagonist, Mara Brent, formidable. There were times when Mara had to struggle with her professional and personal life. She is trying to deal with betrayal. Someone is trying to stop the truth from coming out. There are a lot of twists and turns to keep you to the end. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Vivienne Leheny does a great narration!! I liked this book better than the second in the series.

John Grisham with her small town big city legal style.
I listened to this in one day! Couldn’t get away from it.
