Publisher's summary

Two strangers. One phone. Everything on the line.

Rising rock star Violet is kidnapped from her Los Angeles home in a near-future dystopia. She wakes up locked in a cabin in the middle of nowhere with a mysterious note, and a burner phone that only dials one unfamiliar number.

Construction worker Bud answers a call from his Bay Area apartment, and a stranger’s on the line claiming to have been kidnapped and locked in a cabin.

The note says they have one week to figure out the connection between them. Otherwise, someone out there—or something—will take her life.

A psychological thriller with a sci-fi twist, this audiobook is part of The Jolvix Episodes.

Thank god it over

Waste of time, finished but wish I’d given up after first couple hours. The story is boring. That’s it in a nutshell.

Eh, not bad

First off, there’s a back and forth on the narration. I truly loved it. The guy was especially fantastic. But I agree with a lot of the comments on the book dragging a bit and it’s ending was quite deflated. But I really like this author. Check out more of her stuff.

At least I finished it...

Cheesy cheesy dialog. The narration was painful to get through at some points. Great idea, Netflix Altered Carbon, but of half the dialog would have been replaced with drama, action, something... Lost interest at the half way point. Extremely predictable.

Good concept. Poor execution.

I predicated the ending to the story a little after the halfway mark. I hate when I’m not surprised by the ending. The story had promise but the writing was poor and dialogue was cheesy and tired. The narration was hard to listen to at some points, it just felt awkward. I don’t recommend.

Attention Keeper

This book definitely kept your attention bc you didn’t know which way it was going to go. The voices were quirky to listen to, sometimes distracting, especially the doctor’s, who sounded like he was going for a Heath Ledger Joker persona.

Hard no on the ending

I was so disappointed after about the halfway point. Amen Maxine was fantastic. It will leave you unfulfilled and a bit angry.

8 hours to tell a two hour story

Decent story, but author drones too much with silly filler. Frustrating at times. Cool concept about living life to fullest though.

Meh - First part was good.

Skipped ahead several times. (SPOILER ALERT) Especially when the cartoonish doctor and assistant entered the picture. Then I just soured on both, no - all 4, no, ..I wanted ALL 6 of them to just to shut up! I finished it though.
