Publisher's summary

Winterborne has long been a city divided between those who have magic, and those who do not. Between those who are free, and those who are not....

Though classified as having no magic, Neve March can hear the whispers of the wind and sometimes even control it. But it's a secret she must hold close if she wishes to continue as Nightwatch - the soldiers who guard Winterborne against those who roam the wastelands and feast on human flesh. When Neve investigates a faint SOS signal, she not only unearths a woman close to death, but a plot involving an ancient enemy long thought dead.

In an effort to expose those behind the plot, Neve goes undercover amongst Winterborne's elite - a dangerous step that could expose her secret and rip away all that she holds dear. The trail of treachery leads her from Winterborne's golden halls to the heart of the enemy's hive, and it will shake her belief of not only who she is, but what she is.

Absolutely love this story

I am a bookworm in the truest sense of the word. I easily spend $300 a month to get lost in a world, created to give me relief from reality and this was one of my best adventures yet. The heroin was both vulnerable and strong her adventure was both courageous, and at times seemed in surmountable, I would recommend this book every Time.

Absolutely Awesome Story!!! Keri comes through again

I really liked,no loved this book, I really like when just elemental magic is used. Keri took that idea and used two forms of elemental magic beautifully. The story flowed exceptionally well. In the Audible edition the narrator was great! Keri had an extreme grasp on the concept of being a warrior, this review coming from a former combat warrior myself. She has down the nuances that drive us the energy that is exuded, as well as the sexual nature that plays into it! I still love the Warrior Chronicles, but this new Earth and Air series rocks the genre! My only question is how is book 2 going to pick up from this since there was no cliffhanger I'm truly curious where it goes from here? I'm three description of Cursed (Book 2) there is no mention of Neve's name. I believe the name used was Nyx. That just means I'll have to read it to find out, that won't be hard😁! This book could easily stand on its own as a novel. I'm truly looking forward to how Keri, one of my favorite authors in the genre ever!!! Keep on writing Keri. I'm a wounded warrior who loves to be taken away since most of my usual activities I can no longer participate in, so thank you!!! Rob Ballon

Keri Arthur's best yet.

My favorite books are the ones that draw you in and make you feel as if you are actually there, participating in the action. The combination of Keri Arthur's imaginative and clear writing style, and Justine Eyre's expressive, smoothely flowing narration, do that very well. If you close your eyes and let your imagination take you, you will actually feel yourself standing on the wall, fighting off alien creatures, or conducting a daring rescue in the middle of a war-ravaged wasteland. I hope that this series will have a lot of books, because I know I will enjoy them all. Highly recommended.
