Publisher's summary

When allies call for help, the conquered call for liberty, and the dead call for vengeance... With whom do you keep faith?

After two years, the collapse of the Terran Commonwealth has finally slowed. With communications networks rebuilding, the Successor States are beginning to look to the future—but for some of these states, that is a future to be forged in fire and conquest.

With warlords leading fleets into their stars, the newborn Weston Republic has called for help from every Successor State they could find. Now, James Tecumseh, founder of the Dakotan Confederacy, finds himself fighting shoulder to shoulder alongside Imperator Walkingstick—the man he blames for the fall of the Commonwealth itself.

As defeats, victories, and lies pile up all around them, the two leaders find themselves at a nexus of blood and fire that will define the future of the Commonwealth's Successor States for all time—if they survive!

Great Story

I love this series and they just keep getting better. This series really makes me contemplate ideals vs strategy vs morals. On too of that, great story, good performance, great sci - fi.

Loved the series

A really strong end to the series. While Im always sad to not have any more books in a universe to read, this wraps everything up nicely and still leaves just a little bit that im hoping there may be a novella or two in the future.

Keeps delivering!

I've been so impressed with this series. The story telling, battle tactics, military relationships. Impressed each time a new books comes out just how invested I get in the story and can't put it down. Didnt expect to like as much as the Castle Federation series, but it has been every bit the equal and perhaps superior in some ways.

eager for more

I've always enjoyed the Castle Federation books. The Dakota Confederacy makes a nice addition. I'm looking forward to more books in this series. These books were my introduction to Glynn Stewart's writings.

Nostalgia Space Opera

I love this series and the way Stewart has a very clear influence from some of my other favorite authors in the genre. You have to make it through to the end but the last sentence left me smiling thinking of one certain Honor Harrington. Glynn Stewart is amongst the giants with his writings and I can’t wait for more.

Loved all the characters in this series!

Action, battles, intrigue! I hope another book in this series is coming! There is depth and motivation to both the good guys and the bad guys.
