Publisher's summary

One of Amazon's Best Romances of 2022!

Opposites become allies to fool their matchmaking friends in this swoony reimagining of Shakespeare’s beloved comedy, Much Ado About Nothing.

Jamie Westenberg and Bea Wilmot have nothing in common except a meet-disaster and the mutual understanding that they couldn't be more wrong for each other. But when the people closest to them play Cupid and trick them into going on a date, Jamie and Bea realize they have something else in common after all—an undeniable need for revenge.

Soon their plan is in place: Fake date obnoxiously and convince the meddlers they’re madly in love. Then, break up spectacularly and dash everyone's hopes, putting an end to the matchmaking madness once and for all.

To convince everyone that they’ve fallen for each other, Jamie and Bea will have to nail the performance of their lives. But as their final act nears and playing lovers becomes easier than not, they begin to wonder: What if Cupid’s arrow wasn’t so off the mark? And what if two wrongs do make a right?

SO GOOD

I devoured this book. I’m so glad that I got it in audio form because I listened every chance I could. This story has EVERYTHING you could want. Representation, good friends, communication, humor, heat, smart dialogue, female agency…and more more more!!
An excellent riff on Much Ado About Nothing with subtle nods to The Bard throughout.
Well read by the narrators.

Delightfully Charming

I absolutely loved this book! It was super fun and cute with just enough angst and self sabotaging. I fell in love with both main characters as well as their less than perfect but perfectly perfect representation and am excited with set up for the next.

Awkward, love rom-com

If you love Tessa Bailey’s love hypothesis, you’ll really love this romcom very similar in nature but I loved this story!

Romance on the Spectrum

As a mom of two sons on the Autism spectrum, I was amazed at this insightful story! It gives an interesting perspective of relationships and unique nuances of communicating between neurodivergent individuals. I loved the way their relationship build and how the had to learn about eachother, and build trust and friendship with their own individual obstacles keeping them apart.

By the way, I had no idea what this book was when I started reading —- I met the author at a book signing in Pittsburgh and got a signed copy of the book! Thank you, Chloe! I am hooked! Can’t wait to read the rest of your books!

Wanted to like it

I was really excited for it and wanted to love it. It started out strong but got increasingly harder to listen to… cheesy, eye rolling, boring. Couldn’t finish, wish I could get my credit back.

Third Act Breakup was unnecessary and cruel

I adored this book right up till the third act breakup. If your twin has a break up from an abusive toxic boyfriend it is not necessary to dump your boyfriend in order to be supportive of her in the the aftermath. That every one in the friends and family group seemed to think this was acceptable behaviour just had me shaking my head. I don’t see how trust could be rebuilt after that especially as it went on for weeks. It should have taken her no more than a few days to realize that what she was doing was hurtful and destructive to someone who has spent their life feeling not good enough. At the least there should have been a massive grand gesture.

The characters are everything

The storyline is great, the performance excellent but the characters are what make this book truly shine! Gah, my heart squeezes just thinking about how lovely they are. A true pleasure to read, can’t wait to hear about the other Wilmot sisters.

I'm Autistic... Loved the book but not narrators

I think it was more the accent they used on the women, specially Be... I soooooo wanted to relate to her but the voice and accent sounded like "shallow"
Autistic person here, not good with words but that is the only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars ✨
