Publisher's summary

“I’m Alive!” 13 Incredible People That Cheated Death & Miraculously Lived to Tell the Story...

Could you survive for three weeks in the South American jungle alone and without food or supplies? What about 60 days trapped in a car in deep snow not far from the Arctic Circle? Or for more than a year in an open boat adrift in the Pacific Ocean? What if your own survival and that of your friends depended on your making a journey of more than 800 miles over the storm-tossed South Atlantic in a small boat?

This audiobook is about what happens when the only way to stay alive is to overcome seemingly impossible odds. These are stories of courage, determination, and the ability to overcome injury, pain, and physical and mental challenges that seem overwhelming. But most of all, these are stories about the triumph of the human spirit.

When everything seems lost, when all hope of rescue is gone, when exhaustion, illness, injury, and hunger have taken their toll, some people still find the mental strength to continue. Are these special people? Or do we all have these hidden reserves of strength which will only become apparent in the face of great adversity?

Thankfully, most of us will never find ourselves in a situation where we will find out. These stories are about people who have found themselves in these extreme situations in locations ranging from the heat and humidity of the jungle, to the frozen wastelands of the Antarctic. All somehow survived.

These stories are incredible, but all are completely true. If you want to know about how people have faced and overcome some of the most dangerous situations ever, this book is for you....

Great story, Awful narrator

I was fascinated by the Survival stories in this book, But I had a hard time listening to the narrator as it seemed that he did not do any study on the pronunciation of many of the words he spoke, The place names were the worst. His speech was stilted And it just seemed like he did not even read through the book much before he did the narration.

Many annoying mispronunciations

I love the triumph of the human spirit. Tale after tale show that if the mind and soul are willing insurmountable obstacles and travails can be overcome. Even our physical body is revealing unknown & unexplained abilities to snap back from the abyss given the right conditions. Relating these stories is important and inspiring. Pet peace mispronunciations of words that are used daily. How do you say "native born person"? It's spelled indigenous. Loved the foreboding drama in the narration.

Misses The Mark

This work is a compilation of remarkable survival stories, which is right up my alley...

Unfortunately, it leaves quite a bit to be desired. Each of the chapters describing a different survival situation is not lengthy or detailed enough to properly describe each story.

That there is the presentation. The narrator sounds like the guy used to do movie trailers... like exactly. It is pretty much unbearable.

Oh, and several words are mispronounced, repeatedly.

This feels like a phoned-in effort and doesn't do justice to each of the individual tales.

Save your time and money. Get "438 Days", "Alone in the Jungle", or "Skeletons on the Zahara", instead.

Narrators voice is impossible get through. Trying way to hard to be the “in a world” movie trailer voice

Neck Voice box met nails on a chalk board& summers eve, they had a threesome resulting in a love baby that now narrates this show. I challenge anyone to get through an episode
