Publisher's summary

Four cords of power. Three trials. Two soul-crushing secrets.

For Lera, training has never been so hard. With the males’ power roaring in her veins and River’s cold demand that she master the magic before the third trial, something has to give. Worse still, River is keeping something from her. Something about his past and Lunos’ future.

For River and Coal, the past must stay buried. Though one male’s nightmare sits on a throne and the other’s hides in his soul, they are equally unprepared for Lera’s startling determination to undress the truth.

But when Mors’ Emperor Jawrar makes a play for Lunos, neither Lera’s fledgling magic nor the males’ old wounds can remain untouched - not if their world is to survive.

Trial of Three is a full-length reverse-harem fantasy novel, third in the Power of Five series.

AWESOME!

The plot thickens in this book. I can't praise this series enough! The narration as usual was terrific. You won't want to put it down. The author introduced more characters. I read the previous books and enjoyed them as well. I can't wait to read the next book in this series! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

The Best One Yet.

This is the best series. I love the relationships in all the books, but things really come together in this one. I even laughed out loud several times. The narrator does this series well.

Reviewed for Audiobook Obsession

In the Trial of Three more trials have been set for the quint personal plus to prove that they’re a compatible, viable unit.
Some of Rivers secrets have been revealed and he has finally shown his love for Lera.
This series so far has been like an onion each book has peeled off a layer. Hopefully book four “Lera of Lunos” finally peels back the last layer and gets to the meat of the series, lots of unanswered questions.
Victoria’s narration, her inflection and accents is enjoyable.

This...

My fiancé found the book series first. He brought it to me one day saying he would like me to read the first. He would give me the rest if I liked them. Well, I liked them. An easy read with a good story and likable characters. I’ll continue this fantasy in the next book!!

Great book

Lera and her men are back and trying to get her powers under control enough to pass the trials. Only to have another complication come to light. The characters are very well written and you can see their relationships evolving as the series goes on. The narration is great and allows the story to flow very well and keeps you interested until the very end.

Favorite of the series so far 😍

Story and narration get better and better with each book in this series! I loved the storyline and relationship changes/building in Trial of Three, book 3 in Alex Lidell's Power of Five series.

In this 3rd installment, we get to see Lera learn more about her powers and learn more about the men in her quint. There is a lot of tension throughout this book and some really stupid decisions but it all works out in the end. I will say I am liking Lera more, now that she is really sticking up for herself and pushing back. She is trying to learn more about the quint and the background behind their behaviors and decisions. That is key for their quint to finally all come together. I need a certain elder to get her comeuppance btw. Already started book 4 so I can find out what happens. The big event with Coal was so freaking 🔥🔥🔥 and I can't wait for him to lower more of his walls and even *gasp* hug Lera hahaha. I loved Shade's antics as a wolf, lots of puppy moments haha. I am glad River got his foot out of his butt because that was getting annoying. I am worried about Tye and want he is hiding, especially after showing Lera his specialized and amazing magic/power. I thought the reveal at the end and big fight scene was awesome and that Lera is weaving their magic together with a bang (haha see what I did there?). Can't wait to see what happens next. Also Autumn and Cora need to get their own story!!

Victoria upped her game in this one and definitely deserved 5 stars. All the different voices was great, and the inflections she added really made me feel it. I will say some of her words with Tye were a little off but nothing to take away from the 5 stars. Keep it up!! Will definitely listen to more books narrated by Victoria.

Definitely recommend these audiobooks! I am already an hour into book 4 and am intrigued by the spinoffs after this original series is over. Be prepared to fall for all these amazing characters ❤️

Best of current 3

I feel this third book in the series is the best so far. Of all the books labeled as reverse harem, this series is one of the tops. Interesting world building and characters; and a story where the dialogue and action are consistent with the world created. There is some sex, but it’s not coarse - not a fist in your face. Done here, it shows their growing connection; their melding into a tighter unit.
There are also some interesting scenes related to Lera’s growing powers; both the training and execution in live action. I can’t wait for the next book - Lera of Lunos - to find out what happens when Tye is fully integrated into the Quint;
and Clarissa’s true motivations and actions are revealed.
Recommend.

Steamy and Interesting

We pick up right where the second leaves off. I like that we’re getting more of the world and powers, especially Lera. I could have used more action but I like the steam and characters opening up.

The narration was really good. Clear and easy to listen to.
