4/5 stars

Wounded Heroes 2
Narrated by Leonor A Woodworth

Summary:
When the bodies of 3 women show up in a US senator’s back yard, FBI Special Agent Gabe Sullivan crosses paths with Mackayla Kensington, a freelance forensic sketch artist.
Additional Comments:
• Of course, Gabe and Mackayla are attracted to each other. And of course, there’s a killer out there trying to kill the lady. The book fits the formula perfectly and still works.
• Seems everybody in the book has a tragic past, except the bad guy.
• It’s not quite money and power = evil, but it’s pretty darn close.
• The PI side was a bit of a stretch in that it relied upon a few convenient things, but that’s fine.
• Characters are likable. They’re not super memorable, but they’re likeable.
• Performance fell in the decent realm.
• Clean book. Christian themes were reasonably well handled. There’s one questionable use of God’s name, but I don’t think the character meant it that way.
• There’s not much suspense. Things happen, but one never really gets the feeling Mackayla could be in real danger.
• It’s a fine story. I would read more by the author.
• The title doesn’t make much sense to the story. It fits the genre okay though.

Conclusion:
If you enjoy Christian romantic suspense and have a free afternoon, this is a light one. Go for it.

Great!

The mystery and solve were more of a background to the story. Not a lot of police or FBI procedure. However, this makes it a lot harder to pick apart. 😉
Great characters and a pretty tight story made it an interesting listen. So much so that without a break, I am on to the next in the set.

Great

Great duo with the narration by Leonor and the story by the author. The series is one that draws you with suspense and romance.
The bodies of three young woman was found on the land of a Senator, which has been in the family for several generations. He has wealth, a son and one crooked judge.
Forensic sketch artist McKayla a missing child is personal, she lost one to a killer. Now working with Special Agent Gabe, team up to solve. As emotion are high to solve, they are drawn to one another, with a Christian message, her joy in the simple things of life.

Some cases get personal...

I'm pretty new to Anne Patrick's romantic suspense fiction but I'm definitely hooked. Trespasses is only the second book that I've 'read' so far but it was my favorite.

There were a lot of things to like about Trespasses. I enjoy stories with forensic artists and that have a serial killer or possible serial killer mystery, Anne Patrick has both in this exciting and edge-of-your-seat romantic suspense novel. The setting was rather unique as well, a fictional town near Spokane, Washington, which was pretty cool. I also really liked the addition of a historical murder that ties into Mackayla and Gabe's current investigation. Lots of twists and turns, multiple suspects, and a mystery with tentacles that cross state lines kept me guessing and listening very intently to my phone.

As with book one in the Wounded Warriors series I listened to this book in audio format. I had no complaints about the production and the narrator is one of my favorites. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book to any fan of Christian romantic suspense.

(I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher. All opinions are entirely my own.)
