A great teacher // beat dog book I’ve read

Victoria narrates her own book and she is one of the best teachers I’ve read. Her approach is easy to follow and kind. I wish I had found her and this book sooner!

wonderful book for dog lovers alike

Victoria narrates her own book wonderfully. I absolutely loved listening to this book. it consists of debunking the dominance theory in dogs, the fallouts of using aversive tools, how to teach and handle certain situations, and so much more. I would recommend this book to trainers and dog owners alike. it's easily digestible and wonderful all around.

It WORKS!!!

Victoria’s techniques work so very well. And you end up w such a loving relationship with your dog or cat. I first used Victorias techniques to train my 2 feral rescue cats to sit before being fed (otherwise, their faces were in the food bowl before I could add the kibble!) and to come to a whistle—-hugely important because when feral cats get out they become very frightened and run away from pursuers.

I’m now fostering a neighbor’s 7 yr old, highly anxious dog. The going is a bit slower, but with these gentle encouragement- and attraction-based methods, as long as I keep my ego out of it, we’re making good progress.

A must read for dog owners

I have always found Victoria’s method of dog training the best, so it’s no wonder that I found this book about training a dog the best too. I enjoyed every chapter and have found this book extremely useful for understanding dogs and training. I suggest that anyone who owns a dog or plans on getting one should read this book.
