Publisher's summary

The world as we know it has come to an end.

When an EMP decimates the world’s power grid, society falls faster than anyone could have imagined. For Connor Murray, a farm boy in New York City whose war veteran father had prepared him for such a day, the fall of the old world only means he’ll have to fight to survive into the new one.

As violent militant extremists rapidly overwhelm the city, Connor is forced to fight his way out to safety, using the survival skills passed down to him from his father. But while Connor is fighting his way out, little does he know that his father and sister are fighting their way in to come and save him.

After an EMP strike leaves the country with no power or communications, James Bowers, a fourth-generation cattle rancher, must rescue his wife and son from the chaos engulfing San Antonio, Texas. But with so many unprepared, James discovers more than one type of enemy.

Is it over yet?

Argh….. thought I was getting a value for 3 books in one. Wrong ha.
Book one… all ‘extremists’ in NY state has a southern accent. (And what are they ‘extremist’ for? Against? Never says.. ends up just being revenge). Yawn.
Book 2…. More Extremist, but different name They are from South America. Feelings, emotions, next person, repeat scene and cover another person’s feelings.
Book 3. Just started. Maybe I can finish

Each book starts off with a good story line… then when things should get interesting and action packed…. We hear all their emotions thru each scenario. Then repeat scene they another’s pov.
They really really try… everyone has guns and get into battles… but seems more about how they feel during the battle not an actual action sequence.

Left me confused and one credit gone.

Cliched, juvenile and unpolished wording

I'm disappointed that I purchased this box set as Audible won't let me return it. One example is the REPEATED use of the word "Extremist" to describe a gang of thugs. Some of the wording is odd and lacks clarity and creativity. The story is okay but the choice of wording is distracting.
