Publisher's summary

Anna and Bennett were never supposed to meet: she lives in 1995 Chicago and he lives in 2012 San Francisco. But Bennett has the unique ability to travel through time and space, which brings him into Anna's life, and with him a new world of adventure and possibility.

As their relationship deepens, the two face the reality that time may knock Bennett back to where he belongs, even as a devastating crisis throws everything they believe into question. Against a ticking clock, Anna and Bennett are forced to ask themselves how far they can push the bounds of fate, what consequences they can bear in order to stay together, and whether their love can stand the test of time.

Fresh, exciting, and deeply romantic, Time Between Us is a stunning, spellbinding debut novel from an extraordinary new voice.

Great time travel story!

Any additional comments?

Oh man, I’ve had a copy of this book since July 2012! I petted the pretty cover and found it a pretty place in my bookshelves…then I kind of just forgot about it. I have about 500 physical books (not including the ones on my kindle) and I guess I just don’t have the best memory. Thank goodness for Amazon for letting me know ‘you already purchased this book’ when I go buy a book I don’t remember I have! I remembered about this book a few months ago when Sara was reading it and decided to get the audiobook for it since I liked the narrator. Time travel books are mostly hit or miss with me. I like the concept, but I don’t like when the time travel rules and details get too technical because it’s harder for me to keep up.

Anna lives in Chicago in 1995. When she sees a guy watching her during one of her runs, she’s weirded out when he kind of just disappears. She’s even more confused when he shows up at her school the next day and claims he was never at the track and has never even seen Anna. Naturally, Anna thinks Bennett is lying. Turns out, Bennett has the ability to travel through time and he’s actually from San Franciso, in the year 2012. He’s in 1995 Chicago looking for his sister who he ‘lost’ during on of their time tarvel trips. At first, Bennet keeps his distance from Anna (since he’s planning on leaving as soon as he finds his sister) despite the chemistry and attraction between them. But then, a life and death moment forces Bennett to use his time travel abilities to save Anna. I loved the parts where Anna and Bennett visited different places! The descriptions of the places were vividly described that it was easy to picture it. This was one of my favorite parts of the story!

I’m really undecided on the rating for this book. I keep going back and forth between 3.5 and 4 stars. I really liked the story, but I’m still confused over a few things and the ending was…slow. I wasn’t sure how I felt about Anna for the most part, which isn’t a good thing to say about an MC. For the most part, I liked her. She also got on my damn nerves though. I thought she would overreact about dumb things. I get that she would be annoyed that Bennett ‘erased’ their first kiss, but I totally thought she overreacted to it. After all, he had a good and noble reason for doing it. I was also so annoyed by how she practically forced/guilted Bennett into going back in time to View Spoiler » I was confused on some of the ‘time travel’ rules. Although, I hope we get some of these answers in the next books, I don’t like that ‘what’s going on???’ feeling. I was expecting more of a climax at the end and was disappointed that it was so slow and…a tiny bit boring. Despite my issues with it, I enjoyed the book. I loved the forbidden aspect of the book and I’m fascinated by how their relationship could work out. I’m looking forward to the next book, especially knowing that it’s told in Bennett’s POV.

Audiobook Comments: I have so many books on my audiobook wish list, and a few of them are narrated by Amy Rubinate. This is my first book from her but I can see why she is a popular Young Adult books. She was great at giving every character their own ‘voice.’ Although the narration was a little on the slow side, I had to speed it up to 1.5X speed when I normally listen to 1.25x speed, she did an amazing job. I’ll definitely be buying more books from this narrator.

My third round😏

I love , love love this book. I have always been fascinated about time traveling. I'm also crazy about romance. This book is perfect for me because it has both in its story.
This is my third time reading both parts ( Time after Time is the second book)
No spoilers. I highly recommend it.

I wished that i have the Love of my life.

Would you consider the audio edition of Time between Us to be better than the print version?

Totally like the audio book. I have enjoyed it immensely as it was well written. How the story turned out and telling us love is a something we need in life.

What did you like best about this story?

I like the twist of he was not able to come back in a control manner and she has to make a choice to live differently. That for one to learn that we need to love ourselves before we could love others.
