Publisher's summary

New York Times bestselling author Gena Showalter returns with a new book in the tantalizing Rise of the Warlords series, featuring a brutal Hell king and the irresistible beauty who upends his world.

For centuries, Rathbone the Only, King of Agonies, has existed for one purpose: recovering the enchanted bones of his slain wife to bring her back to life. He’s never been closer to success. But a new enemy has risen. A band of deadly war gods who have thirty days to destroy her or suffer the consequences. With time running out, Rathbone hires a maddening harpy-oracle, unaware she has an agenda of her own.

Neeka the Unwanted is a fierce warrior on a mission: stop Rathbone and the gods. She’s seen the future if either is victorious, and it’s horrifying. She’ll do whatever proves necessary to forge a new path, even seduce the ruthless royal from his purpose. What she can’t predict? How the intense male will shatter her hard-won defenses along the way.

As Rathbone battles unexpected betrayals, cunning foes and the wild temptress he craves with every fiber of his being, he knows he must choose: hold on to a cold dream or embrace a new flame.

This is the best one yet

I was so happy to have Wrathbone back. This is much more like the style of LOTUW. I loved this one so much and because it makes me miss my Lords, I am going to read them all over again. Thank you so much.

Another awesome book by Gena Showalter

What do you get when you put together a man determined to bring back his dead wife and a Harpie seer that forgets frequently? You get The Wrath. This book was just as amazing as the others in this series. I loved the push and pull of Rathbone and Neekas feelings towards each other. These books are hilarious and bloody and I wouldn't want them any other way.

The Wrath

I am surprised. I thought this would be one of the Warlords…. But it is isn’t. This one is about Rathbone and Neeka. Neeka is a harpy oracle and Rathbone is the nephew of Hades and ruler of the Kingdom of Agonies. This books revolves around Azar’s task, but really follows Rathbone and Neeka more. Rathbone is trying to bring his wife back to life, and Neeka is trying to save everyone. I loved this book and how some of the characters from the Lords series were mentioned. I am so excited to see what happens next if the Warlords tasks.

Lackluster performance dims good story

The story is a lot more fun than the way it was narrated. The guy just seems tired, burned out, skipping syllables or not adequately enunciating words. I recommend reading this series, the audio version doesn't do it justice.

it's okay

I really really do not like the guy reading this. he made me not want to even read the book. I ended up not listening to the book and wasting my credit on it and just reading the book. he was just so boring and lifeless. never again will I by a book tjst he narrated. Gena is one of my fav authors and I almost didn't want to read the book
