Publisher's summary

From the Amazon charts best-selling author of The Silent Wife and The Woman I Was Before, The Woman in My Home is a gripping listen about family secrets and lies.

Finally, Cath has met someone: a man she loves, Robin, and who adores her in return. And after years of managing fine on her own, running a successful business, raising her son and caring for her elderly mother, she feels she deserves some happiness.

She expected everyone to be delighted for her. But her friends and family are suspicious of Robin. And Rebecca, a desperate single mother whom Cath has hired as a live-in housekeeper, doesn’t trust him either. He’s too slick, he’s too perfect and it all happened too fast. How well does Cath really know him?

Cath is used to taking care of herself; she’s nobody’s fool. But when things start to go wrong in the house that’s been her haven for all these years, she’s forced to ask herself whether the man she loves is really what he seems…and having let Rebecca in to every part of her life, is Cath ready to face the secrets she might find there?

Avid Listener

Loved it. Characters well developed and well written. Kept my interest. Disappointed when it ended. I can only write this for about 10% of the books I listen to.

Wonderful story. I couldn't wait to hear what was next. I'm sad it's over already.

The best dissapoinment

I have so many mixed emotions about this book. The author has a real talent there is no denial over that. The choice of narrator is brilliant and single handedly the reason I finished this book at all. The character was just too stupid for me . It made my blood boil. At the same time, I know women fall for Con's every day. Most women have at least once, rather they admit it or not. The con doesn't just have to involve money, by the way. So the author has a real ability to be realistic on paper. But the sheer stupidity of this woman made me grit my teeth. For all that, I forged ahead sure I was going to be rewarded when the villain was going to "get it". I was sure there was going to be some elaborate union of right minds to work out a Shawshank Redemption escapade that would end him exactly where he deserved and me the reader would be there for it all. I would be hooping and cheering with arms in the air....instead the end felt flat as if he was riding off in the sunset...???!!! I just have this unfinished feeling.

Excellent read!

Such a refreshing book! The author did a wonderful job engaging the reader with each character. It was so refreshing to listen to a book where the author did not feel the need to have a token character of every identity (no husband with a husband, no wife with a wife. Not one character with an identity/gender crisis. Not one character having to explain to the reader how woke the author is by letting it be known that the main character doesn’t believe in God and alas, not one hint of a Trump derangement syndrome disturbing a character’s soul! JUST A WELL WRITTEN EXCELLENT READ THAT KEEPS THE READER ENGAGED THROUGHOUT. Thank you!

Ok but not great

Performance good but I had to speed it up especially as the story dragged at times. Some characters are well developed but others fall flat And the surprise about one of them, made that character really poorly done to the point of the revelation.

Love Kerry Fisher

I enjoy the depth of her characters, their personal struggles and humanity.
Some characters make you wonder why people do the things they do, like Robin in this book, hopefully karma will take care of him, even if he is make believe.

First time Kerry Fisher Reader

I always try to include a new author, or at least one I've not yet experienced in my weekly reading. This week it was "The Woman in My Home" by Kerry Fisher. And I was drawn immediately into the diverse and complexly layered lives of each character. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this audiobook, with it's spot on performance by Emma Spurgin Hussey.
If you've not yet listened to a book by Kerry Fisher, starting here might make you into a new fan too!
