Great story

I really enjoyed this novel . The characters are well developed and I feel like I really got to know them . Time we’ll spent !

Wonderful Writing

Good story, wonderful writing, very good performance. I recommend this book to any historical fiction lover!

Very original

This was an interesting read for a first time author. I loved the characters and was sad when the last chapter ended. And although I could feel what was about to happen to Digby in Paris, I wanted to run away from that event. The narrator was outstanding. I could have listened to her for another hour.

Not my normal

I purchased it based on reviews and description. Although it seemed to drag on at times. The narrator was good.

A lovely read.

Joanna Quinn’s The Whalebone Theater will sweep you back in time and make you feel a part of the Seagrave family. Great character development, and settings that are so robust that you’ll be surprised to look up and find yourself in your own living room. Highly recommended.

Wonderful story and narration… became very invested in the characters. Wished it did not end.

Entrancing

I couldn’t stop listening, put aside all kinds of obligations. Beautiful language, gorgeously read - even the tweets and whistles were perfect. Her characters and locales were deeply drawn, realistic and involving.

Characters rich and human. Story rich and believable. Narrators made it happen.

Loved it!

Love the sweeping wartime novels! Reminds me somewhat of the Nightingale. Great novel and I loved the narrator also!

Just heavenly!

I loved this book—didn’t want it to end. Beautifully written. The narrator was perfect. I will listen to it again.
