Publisher's summary

Dive into the complete saga. Hours of epic fantasy!

The world was once ruled by magic and monsters, but after a cataclysmic war, the chancellors of old eradicated these curses and ushered in a new world. One where sorcerers are hunted, and lowborns are sent to their deaths fighting the wars of nobles.

In this world, a young slave reveals magical power before an empire. This revelation may be enough to spark a revolution, if Tori can escape the magic hunters pursuing her.

An idealistic soldier fights to maintain his soul in the infamous Night Legions, but as Darien begins to show promise, the lure of power threatens to turn him into the type of monster he once despised.

And a lordling rebel with a dark past journeys to a turbulent nation in search of a mythic weapon. Kale is soon thrust into a game of power that could upend the world.

As sorcerers rise and monsters rage, the fate of all hangs in the balance.

Will magic save the world, or bring it to ruin?

Filled with complex characters, wild plot twists, and epic battles, the Shadow Watch series is perfect for fans of Wheel of Time and the Shannara Chronicles.

Welcome to the breathtaking world of the Shadow Watch, where sorcerers are hunted, monsters rise out of myth, and the fate of all hangs on love and betrayal. Start the four-book series now!

Meh

Story might be ok with a different narrator. Just can’t get past it. Just seems flat. Missing emotional connection to the characters.

No other book can match the plot twists and turns

The plot twists and turns.. the constant surprises. Thinking the characters will do one thing and they do the complete opposite plus a feigned right turn that is actually a left turn. it's fantastic. The evolution of the story really kept me interestered in the plot (I listenedto it virtually non stop between work and sleep. Really I picked it up.

A little slow moving but a good story. Worth the credit. I enjoyed the books.

Great story line kept me wondering what the end would be

Loved the story and characters also how the author used history to develop the story line. Wished we learned more about the villains history. Overall a great story and enjoyable listen.

Good story, but some things seem backwards

This has been a good story, but somethings seem backwards to our own world. I know this is fiction come But the very last quote I heard about not bowing to our suppressors seems backwards to our own world. Why are we doing so now, Like china. It doesn't make sense that the fictional world here is becoming more free, and we are losing our freedoms everyday. Thank you for the story, but I think the narrator also needs to change to something more fitting. Thank you again

it's OK

the narrator sounds like he would be better suited for dark horror stories. There are times when it seems like he is whispering but the characters are just talking normal its very confusing. Couldnonly get through about 1/3 of the book and turned it off bored. The Story feels like a rip off of other fantasy stories like The way of kings, LOTR, game of thrones but not as interesting with similar vocabulary references even in chapter titles like "Part 5 the night of fire and ice" like really come on man. Might come back around to try again but not right now.

I just kept thinking it was going to get better

This book was mostly ruined by poor narration. I felt that the characters were misrepresented by the narrator. Maybe I would have liked them better if they had been portrayed differently.
But that’s only one problem I had with this series.
Because the author took so many twists and turns with the plot, I could never fully root for any of the characters. It left me uninvested and just trying to make it to the end. Out of the 4 books, the last one was the only one I moderately enjoyed.

The book is probably a good read just not for listening

I can not even listen to this book. The Narrators voice is a turn off. I tried to return this book on Audible and it would not allow me too. I am very disappointed.

Awful, nearly painful

Poor character development . Never once felt invested in a single character. Totally believable that that someone under 20 , with very little training becomes a Captain in an army or the wielder of amazing power overnight. If all 4 books were not bundled together, I would NEVER have bought book 2. this book was so bad that I listened to elevator music while on hold rather than play that book.

Narrator puts you to sleep

I feel like I’m listening to a tele-novella from back in the day with all the love twists.. I could’ve probably finished the book if it wasn’t for the narrator’s monotonous voice. I need to stay awake at work and listening to it around the house is even worse. Calling it quits on book 2.
