This 1769 edition is highly sought after due to being more reader/listener friendly than the 1611 since many typos were fixed.... The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. Excellent writing!
The stories were clever, unique, and engaging. Couldn’t put the book down, so to speak. I look forward to more work from this writer. I can imagine him becoming a favorite if he becomes prolific with publications.

Bite sized horror with a unique perspective
Each story was a little powerhouse with a punch at the end that made me think of them as a horror version of Jack London, where nature is supreme and the protagonist is left in the lurch. The narration was smooth and rhythmic, making the story come to life with my own visualization.

Nicely crafted tales delivered ever so well.
Thomas O weaves some crazy tales and Sturtevant delivers them divinely! A definite must listen for sure.
