Publisher's summary

For centuries, a hidden current has run through the world's wisdom traditions, a dark, positive, feminine energy represented by such striking symbols as the Tibetan Buddhist Tara, the Catholic Black Madonna, and the Hindu Kali. Now award-winning author and researcher China Galland escorts you on a spiritual pilgrimage in search of these inspiring figures. From India to South America to medieval Europe, you'll encounter the world's most powerful manifestations of "fierce compassion" - the feminine force that emerges when we harness our anger and transform it into spiritual awareness - and learn how to awaken this power within yourself.

Wow is all I can say

I loved it so much I listened it to back to back and took notes the second time so insightful and just what I was looking for.

Beautiful inspiration on the divine feminine

The only reason I can't give it 5 stars, it skips really badly in two spots, must have happened when the creator uploaded it to audible or something. Very uplifting and enlightening. Some of the connections really blew me away.

Nice interesting walk and learning

I received some nee perspectives on this aspect of the divine feminine that were wonderful to know - and that I have used myself - on how deep and powerful we are.

Slow but good

I liked the book. It was really slow but I enjoyed it. I have shared it with others.

I loved the examination of the dark feminine in Hindu & Buddhism!

The author begins with the rare things I know about, so I was a cheerleader for the first few chapters.
I had thought it was going to have a more agnostic approach to the religious folklore tales. As an academic who studies a sampling of Asian religions and myths I was excited about rounding out my knowledge. However, as I browsed the cereal isle at the grocery store, Christianity crept into the story. Galland discusses a more spiritual shift in herself with emotion that I could not relate to. It felt like more of a self help while working on forgiveness call to action than a presentation with compare and contrast.

informative, Expansion, Necessary

I love the description of the Dark Feminine. I highly resonate with the Dark Feminine and it was peaceful to hear a story of the compassion, strength, and love we have. exploration of the feminine across all religions and races is important -- the author did a great job at showing our connectedness. great read/listen. also, the meditation was unexpected but had me in tears with a release with The Dark Feminine. ✨

Some issues with the recording

Great audiobook but there are a lot of parts where it glitches and skips to a different section. I wish it was recorded and loaded up better

It should be different places where I have been

In general it seemed to me that the book only talks about the places she visited, that's all it doesn't deepen the story or anything

Very bad sound

The volume is very low and it skips so the story doesn’t make any sense.
