Publisher's summary

After battling the hyenas, Eric gets a notification that something called a Place of Power has been found. That is the only clue that might help him get back to his native world.

But there's a problem. The system needs mana to calculate a route. Eric simply doesn't have any, and he doesn't know when he will. That is because, due to the strange laws this world lives by, Eric's mana supply isn't filling up. But the Great System also exists here, though its laws are only partially functioning.

Having found himself in this alien and dangerous world without magic or the support of his loyal Gorgie, Eric understands that the kid who saved him, Badger, is currently his only source of useful information. That is a chance to understand and gain knowledge about this world and, in all likelihood, find a way to rustle up some mana.

absolutely fantastic!!!

Great story and narration!

The only problem with this book is that I'm finished reading it! And now the waiting begins for the next book in the series.

Absolutely wonderful!

If you've enjoyed the series so far you'll enjoy this one as well!

Deeply Flawed - but still interesting.

Overall, this installment and the series is good. I enjoy the MC's continued growth, both in power and in mentality. However, the author fails to write muti dimensional female characters. They all have the same personality and their relevance is only in how they affect the MC. The romance is truly cringe worthy, I honestly would have preferred it was skipped entirely. The overall story interests me enough, that so far, I'm willing to power through it.

Well worth the credit I

happen to get this book and the ones before it during a free period. But I will buy the rest in this series because of how excited and action packed it is.

Worthy, but mostly filler, book

The story continues where book 3 left off with Eric transported into another world, one where mana is not present and him depleted of it such that he cannot even summons his trust beast warrior Gorgie. What follows if Eric befriending a local peasant by saving him from sure death and that leading him through this land meeting others, some of which are bullies, while others are oppressed. Even though the lack of mana limits what he can do with spells, the world offer other interesting ways for him to acuire skills and enchanted weapons. Even though the plot was mostly interesting, there wasn't much forward movement in terms of the primary plot arc.

Derek Shoales' performance was off during this reading which hampered the listening experience somewhat.

This is a great book. It is just as good as the first one. Hopefully the next one comes fast.

enjoyed it

I enjoyed the book, it helps continue the story and the main character gets quite a bit stronger, he is starting to think how he did in the first book, and finally getting better at things he didn't do before.

This book continues the series.

I'm not sure where the MC is going to end up or what his purpose will be. Will he ever get someone to be an assistant monster hunter? What about his brother? Places of power he will create? Just all over the place and not much growth of character but plenty of action.

A nice little tangent!

It was a little weird to have the entire book in the otherworld but i enjoyed it! Spoiler alert though at the end of the book i wish it wasnt completely cut off like that, though i should have guessed considering how fast he got a girlfriend
