Publisher's summary

She’s fallen for an angel…but he’s mated to a monster.

In a realm of orcs and powerful men, housemaid Alma Andersson is drowning—in grief, debt, and drudgery. When her awful employer makes his darkest demand yet, she flees for the forest and tumbles toward her doom… Until she’s snatched to safety by a huge, vicious green beast. An orc.

He’s utterly terrifying, with his towering bulk, sharp teeth, and deadly black claws—but his touch is gentle, and his eyes are kind. And his scent is a deep, decadent sweetness, sparking a furious flame between them.

But it’s only more disaster because Alma’s shy, soft-hearted rescuer is already mated to another orc. A tall, silent, snarling monster named Drafli, who loathes Alma on sight and clearly longs for her death.

Yet Drafli will do anything for his sweet mate, even if it means tolerating a weak, worthless human. So he makes Alma a cold, calculated offer: he’ll share his mate with her…but only on his terms. He wants her silence. Her surrender. Her servitude.

With Alma’s fate firmly in Drafli’s ruthless hands, how can she face her own dark desires—or all the secrets hidden behind Orc Mountain’s walls? Can a lost, lonely housemaid come between two orcs without being crushed?

The Maid and the Orcs is a dark, angsty, full-length, enemies-to-lovers fantasy romance. It comes after The Midwife and the Orc but can be enjoyed as a standalone. Happily ever after guaranteed.

Two Orcs Are Better Than One

If I could give this book ten stars, I would. Ms. Fenn has done it again with another fantastic book about sexy orcs living in Orc Mountain. The love scenes were breathtaking and so sexy. Do yourself a favor and be sure to get all of the Audible books in this series. Shane East's voice is perfection.

"so sweet, my teeth hurt"

seriously, this one is my new fave in the series. not only do we get to know Baldr and Drafli better, but we see more of my fave characters Kest and Efterar, with my fave quote from Kest (see title of this review).

Drafli and Bauldr's Tale

I think this is my new favorite. Each story just gets better. Alma’s tale just hits viscerally at points. How the heck do these orcs think anyone would understand the implications of what is not said. Orcs [ugh] you just want to smack them, but also orcs, you just want to squeeze them. There is more about Kesst and Eft. (side note: am waiting anxiously for the day Sins of the Orc drops). This one is a slow build in the relationship between Drafli, Bauldr, and Alma as they struggle to find balance. There is lots of spic-e-ness.

Shane East does an excellent job with Drafli’s damaged voice and adds depth to an intriguing story. Shane's narration brings the orcs and humans to life as we are transported to Finley Finn's realm.

Bonus Governess and the Orc chapters at the end.

love, love, LOVE this series!

As always Shane East and Finley Fenn have brought the thunder! The world building is fantastic as usual, even without the steamy bits I would still be a loyal reader but most definitely the spice adds to the flavor 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ I've been wanting more focus on Drafli and Baulder for such a LONG time, and love that we've gotten an intimate view into their relationship! And Alma! I love her so much, she definitely is all Grisk sweetness with a little Skai fierceness! If you enjoy some darkness with your romance, you'll love this series too 💚💚💚💚💚

One of my favorites from this series!

I’ve been waiting for this one to drop. I think I read this one before heiress and this is the one that got me hooked on the series. The gradual building is the relationship between the MCs and the struggle to find balance while honoring what was already there was perfect. I definitely like Finley’s creative spice and while this was new to me, it was well done. Shane is a treasure as always. He did an excellent job with Drafli’s damaged voice and adds depth to an intriguing story. I was excited to hear the bonus governess scene too!

Audiobook is better

I read the book shortly before the release of audiobook and had a hard time with the storyline; however, after Shane’s stellar performance, the book made more sense and gained much needed clarity. Each book adds more to explain vital things about the Orcs and their clans. Everyone has an important job to make things run smoothly. This is what I find the most enjoyable. When it comes to narrating Orc books, no one does it better than Shane, he is a blessing to Finley!
