Harder to get into, but glad I stayed to the end.

This book was harder for me to get interested in than previous books I’ve listened to/read by this author - which I very much enjoyed, and I nearly quit halfway through. The story finally picked up for me 3/4 of the way in and I was happy with the ending. Glad I stuck with it.

4 ⭐️

I enjoyed this audio recording of a maid and major fan of a famous writer impersonating her after her death. Impersonating her writing ✍️.

Slow start but worth your time

Don’t give up on this! Liv is a reader and she has idealized Essie since she was an adolescent. Her dream of meeting her came true and how she changed Liv’s life is amazing!

A book for people who love books

Ms Patrick really gets readers, which makes reading her novels such a wonderful experience. You can be assured of strong, well-written, realistic female characters, and she delivers with several in this book! The book tells an interesting story of a housekeeper who suddenly becomes more because of equal parts of her own capacity and fate. Through her (and the story’s) evolution, Ms Patrick slows unveils not just her story, but her employer’s, and her family’s. Altho there are predictable moments, I enjoyed it and can’t wait to read another book by Ms Patrick!

A bit boring.

The narrator was fine. The story just was not very interesting. I completed the book but unfortunately am not interested in seeking out another from this author.
