A Delightful Voice

I have read this terrible novel several times and purchased this audiobook to review while out running. I was surprised to find that a near relative of Moira Rose has performed the narrative with style and aplomb. Bravo, Mr. Harrison!

Absolutely fantastic performance

A classic story but the performance of the teller is probably the best I’ve heard.

Wade review.

I agree so much with Reviewer Wade. So I won’t write anything new since he mentioned everything I would have, and if I had, I’m certain his review would have been more coherent than mine!

Very interesting

A true classic, marred perhaps by outdated terminology, but a great slow-building tale regardless.

Stellar!

The imagery is unreal! A grand story told of hardship and constant struggle in the most poetic way!

Mohicans & More

This book is enjoyable from an historical perspective.Considered one of James Fenimore Cooper's best, written in the 1800s, the language is a bit flowery at times but the story flows and the characters are real. Google James Fenimore Cooper for a glimpse into Cooper's prolific works, life and influence on American literary culture, politics and life. A true American of his generation , Cooper had first hand experience with the frontier[particulerly New York State] , the sea ,England,Europe and wrote about those experiences extensively in both fiction and non-fiction.
I do caution you that you will be reading the way novels were written "back then" . But in that period this would have been on the New York Times Best Seller list [had they had such a list] for a Very long time and was read widely and Eagerly all over Europe and Russia..
The EXCELLENT movie with Daniel Day Lewis is only helpful because it captures the Spirit of the book and aids in visualizing the characters. Putting it another way,you don't have to worry about knowing what happens because the movie and the book plots mirror each other only in the slightest.
The narrator does a very good job.
