Publisher's summary

Discover how to convey the essence of leadership in your every interaction. The impression you make as a leader has the power to build, enhance, or sabotage your authority and your ideas.

Everyone seems to have an opinion about leadership. We know good leaders Eat Last, Lean In, Break the Rules, Dare to Lead, and are Radically Candid, as well as extremely aware of their Tribes, Drive, and Principles. But books about these topics overlook the value of leadership impression - the instant projection you exude as a leader. How do leaders sound? What do leaders say and not say? How do leaders tell stories, send emails, run meetings, conduct video conferences, give speeches, conduct interviews, and even listen to others?

Drawing on his experiences as a leadership coach, as well as his personal experience holding senior positions at Time Inc., Audible, PBS, MTV, and the ASPCA, Joel Schwartzberg offers practical tips and entertaining but eye-opening exercises that help listeners convey genuine and impactful leadership in every conceivable situation. Understanding your leadership impression is vitally important: it is the first piece of evidence on which you and your ideas will be judged and your best chance to lay a foundation of confidence, competence, and commitment.

Overall great

I enjoyed this audio book and took away a few things from it. There are times when the author's own political/societal opinions come through subtly. Overall it was good though and worth the money.

Good info is n a short package

This audiobook has specific actions and recommendations. I am recommending it to a few of my managers to encourage their life long learning.

Power packed leadership advice!

Wow-so good, I found myself feverishly taking notes, replaying over and over! The first hour taught me more than most of my university courses on communication ever did!

Hard to get past the politics

I couldn't get past the authors' clear bias for the political Left. Too bad he had to make an apolitical topic, political.
