What's not to like?

Simply put, this is just a fun tale if you like fantasy. It has action, adventure, treachery, deceit, and even a touch of romance. The first book, I read. The second book, I listened to on Audible. There are quite a few words in fictitious languages that I wouldnot have known how to pronounce, so I enjoyed the audio version. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

This book is a fun fantasy. I enjoyed the journey this story took me on.

Another great story

Muirwood’s world is my favorite of Wheeler’s so far, and that’s saying something because the Kingfountain series is also excellent. Though they’re separate stories, the worlds do intersect at a couple of points and the magic has the same source though its manifestations and names vary. This is my second time through this book — I re-listened to this and The Druid to refresh myself on the story in preparation for the final book in the trilogy now that it’s out. It was great — just as good if not better the second time through! Compelling characters, world, and storyline. Plenty of nuance, surprises, and lines that make you think and that carry over into our world. Definitely worth it!

This is a prequel to the first two Muirwood trilogies. Start with the Legends of Muirwood trilogy, then the Covenant of Muirwood trilogy before moving on to this one.

I miss this story already!!! I want a sequel yesterday... might just have to reread. Another beautifully powerful addition to Mr. Wheeler's worlds!
