Much ado about nothing
Either we don't understand French history post WW II or it was too fantastic. The CIA really didn't interfere with French party development, did it? Too unbelievable for me. Story was so-so. Nothing gripping actually happens until the end: rather like Hamlet -- but not as good.

l love this author.
I have read every book Kate Furnival has written. Her characters come to life. The stories are so well written and the imagery of her words paint such graphic images. the only problem is it takes so long for a new book!

A long flat story
I’m about 9 hours into this book only because I have forced myself to listen to it - just to be done with it really. I read “The Betrayal “ and thought it was not bad , but this is just too boring. I love the way Imogen Church performs books but even she can’t save this one. Save your points.
