Publisher's summary

A beard-related dare and one hot-as-hell kiss change everything.

NFL center Ethan Dexter's focus has always been on playing football and little else. Except when it comes to one particular woman. The lovely Fiona Mackenzie might not care about his fame, but she's also never looked at him as anything more than one of her brother-in-law's best friends. That ends now.

Fi doesn't know what to make of Dex. The bearded, tattooed, mountain of man-muscle looks more like a biker than a football player. Rumor has it he's a virgin, but she finds that hard to believe. Because from the moment he decides to turn his quiet intensity on her, she's left weak at the knees and aching to see his famous control fully unleashed. Fi ought to guard her heart and walk away; they live vastly different lives in separate cities. And Dex is looking for a forever girl. But Dex has upped his game and is using all his considerable charm to convince Fi he's her forever man.

Game on.

Ethan (Dex) 💜’s Fiona forever

I really love this series. While The Hook Up remains my favorite, listening to Ethan and Fiona’s story was great—they are a uniquely perfect couple who adore each other. I also appreciated the enduring friendships between many of the characters and the family dynamics. Reading/listening to romance novels is fantasy after all, and I enjoyed how their sweet HEA story wrapped up. ✨💜

Loved This Story

I really enjoyed this sports romance audiobook. Teddy Hamilton and Grace Grant did a wonderful job of bringing Ethan and Fiona’s story to life.

I loved the fact that Ethan wasn’t a playboy, like most sports romances. This was a wonderful change and I wish it would happen more often. Ethan has been somewhat infatuated with Fiona for a couple of years now but the timing wasn’t just right for a while. Ethan is the best friend to Fiona’s brother-in-law and his fame means very little to her. Wish is a nice change for Ethan and one of the reasons he likes her so much.

Fiona hasn’t been interested in settling down. She’s come to visit her sister and take a much needed vacation. She wasn’t prepared for the bearded and tattooed hunk that is also staying at her sister’s house. She finds it hard to believe that Ethan is a virgin but eventually he explains his reasons for his choices and they make perfect sense.

Ethan is determined to show Fiona what they could be together but she doesn’t see how it could work when they live so far apart.

This was a great story and I will definitely be checking out the others in this series. This was the first book by this author that be read/listened to.

Ehhhh, not so much

Okay, so I loved reading this whole series, and I loved The Hookup audiobook, but I have to say I’m disappointed with this one and with Grayson’s audiobook. Grace Grant’s male voice just isn’t believable and left me wishing for Maxine Mitchell’s boy talk. I’m only on chapter 4 and I think I’ll put this one away for now and come back to it in a few months and see if I like it better.

Love this series!

I was so excited that they made this series into audio but man I can’t stand the females voice. Teddy H, spot on as always but Grace G, ugh 😣

Well that was sweet

The story was okay. Sweet but not mind blowing. I enjoyed it. My biggest complaint would be the female narrator's 'male' voice. It was so bad it pulled me out of the tender moments. I probably would've loved this book if they had used Teddy Hamilton for ALL the MMC parts.

DNF

Based on the blurb, I thought I was getting a book in which a smitten hero who's used to fame and women throwing themselves at him having to work to pursue a woman who wasn't super interested/was resistant to his advances. That is NOT THIS. this is a h who from the instant she sees him is gushing internally and then proceeds to throw herself at him being so pathetic as to fall asleep in the guest room he's using one night when he goes out to play poker. ...yeah DNF
The H is not some pining guy relentlessly pursuing h here.

And witty banter???? WITTY?? GTFOH
There was so much cringe in this thing. Actual line "Should I look outside? are pigs flying"

Also, the H is so OTT unbelievably perfect its dumb. NFL pro athlete, incredible artist (like bro literally sketched a pic of h in the time it takes to wait on their food in restaurant) thats an exact likeness, hes an incredible singer who "brings down the house" doing karaoke and of course the best lover EVVVVVER even though he has zero sexual experience.

Then on top of all that ITS BORING!
Just trash. How on earth does this have such a high rating?!?
