Best story I've heard in a long time
I truly loved it! I'm a truck driver and I listen to a lot of audio books. This is one of the most enjoyable stories I've heard in a long time. It kept me thoroughly engaged and was disappointed when the book was finished. I'm hoping there's more coming.

If you can ignore the profanity…
The book’s content and storyline would have been greatly improved if the author had followed the Customer Review Guidelines, and NOT included “obscenities or profanity”. An investment of a little more effort to creatively express extreme emotion (rather than resorting to fowl language), would have made the story far more enjoyable. The book was well read (although individuals were harder to identify in Book 2 as the number of characters increased). If you can ignore the frequent profanity, the relationships and interplay of strengths and weaknesses of the major characters are interesting and generally entertaining. There are many, not-so-subtle, lighthearted references to historic sci-fi books, movies, and TV shows for comparison, contrast, critique, naming, and puns. The “science” borrows from some recent experimental weapon systems and yet undeveloped propulsion systems and extrapolates their usage in the future. The engineering success and adoption rate being accelerated by knowledge provided by an alien “sentient AI” (called HAL) helping the humans.

They cam e and were destroyed.
The hoard of 10,000 ship came into the Milky Way to destroy Earth. An Alien AI had warned the people about twenty years earlier so the people were ready for them. Four youngsters were instrumental in setting up the defense of of the Earth.
One of the best story lines I have listened to in quite a while. I recommend it whole heartedly..
