Loved the Finisher
Who was your favorite character and why?
Vega Jane is a very strong young girl. She's still learning about herself, her powers and how to use them wisely. She reminds me a little of Harry Potter.

Wow! - but very unexpected

If you like Rowling and Tolkien you're going to love this book. If you love David Baldacci you may or may not like it. Baldacci demonstrates an incredible range with this book - to the extent that several times I wondered if this was by a different author named Baldacci. It's a fun plot however, shows amazing imagination and verbal skills, and sets the stage for a great sequel. I was not surprised to see some negative reviews, however, because I rarely have read a book that was so different than what I had expected.

Clever world and word building
Compelling, exciting story line with unique, endearing, and hateful, characters. Lots of metaphors to our world although not of our world. Beautifully crafted words, phrases and visuals. I loved the language originality. A great model for writers of fantasy.

What fun! Can't wait to get started on the next book in the series.
I don't usually 'see' an audible book in my mind like a movie, but this book was so unexpected and narrated so beautifully, that I feel I've watched a new, unique movie in The Hunger Games and Harry Potter genre. The reader was enthusiastic, well paced, and had distinct voices for the characters. I've been an Audible subscriber for years; this book and narrator are my favorite. I'm a 67 year old female software engineer, if that gives any perspective on this review.
