Publisher's summary

Amanda Hocking, the New York Times best-selling author of The Kanin Chronicles, returns to the magical world of the Trylle Trilogy with The Ever After, the final novel in The Omte Origins arc.

Buried memories....

Ulla Tulin has lost a month of her life. Her journey to learn who her parents are has brought her to the attention of the Älvolk sect - and a man claiming to be her father. But instead of a long lost family reunion, Ulla has forgotten her time there, and fears something terrible happened.

Sacred flower....

The Älvolk released Ulla alive for one reason only, to exchange her for a rare flower with mystical properties. Determined to break her amnesia, Ulla risks her life against a dark enchantment capable of killing her to remember the Älvolk’s secrets - to use the flower as part of an incantation that will open the bridge to Alfheim, the First City.

Blood prophecy....

But opening the bridge will unleash a menagerie of monstrous creatures upon Earth that will consume everything in their path. Knowing she may lose Pan Soriano, the love of her life, Ulla nevertheless gathers an army of Trylle to stand with her and defend humanity as well as her own kind. And it is Ulla’s very heritage that holds the key to victory.

Memories matter...wonderful fantasy trilogy

I see I have likely made a mistake reading only one trilogy before this one, but not the original trilogy. However, I do feel it is a fully realized trilogy on its own, with superb characterizations and world-building. Ulla is a wonderful, approachable main character. meaning the reader really gets to understand and like her. The memory recovering part of the plot was fascinating.

I am not a battle person and thought the epic battle went on too long, but realize I am likely in the minority. I was also not happy about the resolution of one of the characters. I am ambivalent about the sudden shifting points of view near the end. They are harder to adjust too in an audible setting, but I did figure it out right away--just was a bit jarring. I think authors need to put more than a person's name, knowing that their book may be listened to instead of read in paper. I look forward to re-reading this again one day. Overall, I cared a great deal for the main character, her roommate and boyfriend, besides a larger cast of characters. Plenty of them to dislike, as well.

Overall, I highly recommend this series and author.

so good

such a good trilogy! I love how she tied all of the tribes and other books into this one. such a good story! the characters were great and the narrator did a great job with the story and all of the voices of the characters!

Why?

How come the same narrator is saying previous names incorrectly? Tuv (sp?) in the original series it’s Tuv and now she’s saying Tuva or Tova. Same with Iliana in this later series, pronounced one way in part of the story, then another and then back to the original way. Someone obviously didn’t take much care in making sure this was checked, before it was released to Audible.
