Publisher's summary

Step into a wondrously strange new world with this dazzling new stand-alone novel by Amanda Hocking, New York Times best-selling author of The Kanin Chronicles!

Mara has become used to the extraordinary. Roaming from place to place with Gideon Davorin's Traveling Carnival, she longs for an ordinary life where no one has the ability to levitate or predict the future.

She gets her chance when the struggling sideshow sets up camp in the small town of Caudry, and she meets a gorgeous local guy named Gabe. But before long Mara realizes there's a dark presence lurking in the town that's threatening the lives of her friends. She has seven days to take control of a power she didn't know she had in order to save everyone she cares about - and change the future forever.

In Freeks, Amanda Hocking once again proves her ability to create amazing characters and enchanting worlds that will capture your imagination and never let go.

loved the book

absolutely love the book ! Amanda Hocking has great stories. although the narration on this seemed a little dry to me almost like Siri was narrating it. she put a lot of emotion in the other characters voice except for the main one.

it was okay.

I didn't feel strongly about it in any particular way. I'm not upset that I listened to it, but it also wouldn't come to mind to recommend to a friend.

love!

the story is great but what sold it for me was a speaker. awesome job giving each character a different 'voice' and making sure that emotions were projected. Did not sound boring at all!

Book was just OK.

I absolutely LOVE Amanda Hocking and almost anything she writes... that being said this book just didn't keep me interested. It was ok and I'm not disappointed that I read it but it's definitely not a book I'd recommend or reread. It wasn't a bad book but I'd constantly catch my mind wondering from it while trying to listen, it was just a book I couldn't stay focused on. The narrator was absolutely fantastic though!
