Publisher's summary

In the epic conclusion to K.D. Edwards' first blockbuster trilogy in the Tarot Sequence series, audiences followed Rune on a race against time as an age-old threat rose to threaten the city of New Atlantis. Now, for the first time, The Eidolon tells what really happened to Max, Quinn, and Anna as prisoners in the Hourglass Throne's base of operation.

The Eidolon is the first in a brand-new collection of novels and novellas in the Magnus Academy series. These stories will be told through the various points of view of Rune's found family, ultimately leading to a planned arc of novels set at the new Magnus Academy. The book was printed in partnership with Rainbow Crate, the world's largest queer subscription box service, which produced a limited-edition hardcover.

How Well It Ties Together

If you didn't have the Hourglass Throne, you would still have a great understanding of the story line. Having both you can read each separately, or take the suggestion of reading each section of the Eidolon after the section of the Hourglass Throne. I just hope I can finish reading the series before I die. So for me it's a race against time!

Amazing

I adore the epic adventure and the humor and caring that is shown in this authors books. Although this is a spin off of his other series it really would make more sense if you’ve read the other books. Highly recommend.

Top tier storytelling

It’s worth the audible credit. I can’t wait for the next book to come out.
It also helps you fall more in love with the Quinn, Max, and Anna.
The “oh shit” moment is excellent.

OMG when is the next book coming?

This is amazing. The building of characters and the universe is phenomenal. The idea with the tarot cards build into a novel. Can’t wait for book 4. In the meantime i read the free content on the author’s website.

Awesome as always

These books are all so good. I didn’t think I’d find one about the kids as enjoyable as the others but I was wrong. All the relationships are beautiful and it was fun to see the teenagers finding their feet. And there are revelations, as always. I should just start planning my life around release dates for this series.

Super fun!

This is just as great as the main books in ‘The Tarot Sequence’ series! After reading/listening to all of that series, and now this book, I love being immersed in this universe, and I truly love, love, love *all* the characters in it. But there’s something a little extra special about this group of kiddos that I adore; they bring out all my auntie and mothering feels and I just want to hug them all and protect them. So obviously I was excited to read ‘The Eidolon,’ and I’m super pumped that my babies are getting a whole series of their own!

Anyway, as I said, I loved this book just like all the others in its parent-series. I would recommend reading/listening to the books in ‘The Tarot Sequence’ before this one, if you really want a better grasp on everything. But if you don’t have access to those, this one would probably be an okay standalone or intro.

As always, I also must mention the amazing and talented narrator, Josh Hurley! I’m so glad that the powers-that-be chose him to read this book (and hopefully this series) as well. He does such an awesome job with this, and the other books, so it just makes sense. He’s a brilliant narrator, imho, and does such a wonderful job adding layers and layers to the story he’s reading, as well as giving each individual character—no matter how small—their own distinctive voice. He also just has a great voice and is amazing with accents.
