Publisher's summary

Dr. Adam Richards was raised in a time where being gay was taboo. Like most men of his time, he settled down, married a woman, and had children. Thirty years later, divorced and ready to start over, he wishes he'd been true to himself back when he was younger and desirable. Who'd want an old man like him? And what would his sons think if they knew the truth?

Then Adam meets the young, confident, and gorgeous Aaran MacNair. Adam is positive he's too old for him. But Aaran has a secret; he's a thousand-year-old dragon-shifter, and what's more, he claims Adam is his mate.

A single date quickly spirals into a moment of passion, igniting the bonding process. But Adam's son interrupts, halting the completion of the bond. Feeling the effects of the mating heat, Aaran has two options—leave or risk killing Adam's son—both choices have devastating consequences.

Age is just a number

This latest entry in the dragon serial finally puts Aaran and Adam together. There’s a lot of family drama to contend with surrounding Adam, his sons, and mating. I’m glad Adam finally wrapped his head around the concept of dragons and got it through his thick skull that the age gap with Aaran was bigger than he thought and went in the other direction. It’s an enjoyable book to listen to and Aaron Ross’s accent works well with the story.

Fun series

I’m glad to be back in this world. I’ve enjoyed this series so far and this book was a great addition. Adam and Aaron make a great pair and it was fun to see their dynamic. I loved how the relationship developed not just with the guys but also with their family. I can’t wait to get even more amazing stories in this series and this world.

Still into these dragons!

I'm still very much into these dragons and their mates. This book focuses on Aaran and Adam's story. They meet in a previous book and have some interactions before committing to date/ mate each other. I like seeing Aaran (and his dragon) struggle to woo Adam.

fun new world

This was a fun listen. Both author and narrator are new to me but the blurb sounded interesting so I jumped in. I enjoyed both the story and performance. I assume there's some world building I missed from the previous books, as well as Adam and Aaran meeting but I didn't have issues following along. Adam and Aaran faced some issues that could have been prevented with a little more communication but I'll chalk it up to the fast pace and move along.

A pet peeve as a reader is when there are too many similar names. There are at least 4 characters with "A" names, including this pairing. It's just hard to keep straight as I'm reading. Overall a fun world and I'm planning to go back and read the rest of the series.

a fun mpreg dragon shifter series

These are such fun novellas. They are all action packed for something so short which makes them fly by. I have enjoyed listening to each and every one. Each book focuses on a different family member but they are NOT standalones due to the overarching storyline and there are continuing relationship plot points (like pregnancies) stretching over more than one book. I had never heard the narrator before starting this series but I find him enjoyable and like his Scottish accent. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this audiobook.

Great story

In this whole series that I’ve read so far, this is my least favorite, but the audio version of it was so much better. Aaran is a dragon and is fated to Adam, a human doctor. Adam is a but older and has grown children. When Adam’s sons interrupt the mating bond, Adam pushes Aaran away and he has no choice but to leave and not complete the bond. Thus, he goes thru a mate bond sickness. All worked out in the end. Aaron Ross does a fantastic narration! His voices are clear and distinct. Overall, a good listen, I cannot wait to read the next one in the series! The story kept me engaged, the pacing flowed smoothly, highly recommend

Enjoyable

I almost stop listening but am glad I didn’t. The first few minutes were hard for me to keep up as the voices didn’t change for the different characters, but I waited it out and when Adam made an appearance the voices did change. At least enough I could tell them apart… So, after the first couple of minutes, I thought the narrator did a great job. I loved the accent and tones used. I also thought Aaron Ross did a great job with the emotions.

I really enjoyed this story and wished there was more of Adam and Aaran. The story was fun and had light drama. I did read this book back in March and found it to be one of my favorites in the series. Even after listening it's still a favorite.

Oh, I did have to speed up the narration as it was too slow at the normal pace for my liking. But I was easily pulled into the story once I got over a couple of hurdles.
