Publisher's summary

Charles L. Grant's town of Oxrun Station became real to horror fans (much like Lovecraft's Arkham and King's Castle Rock). While most of Grant's stories were contemporary, he did write a trilogy of "historical" novels placed in an earlier Oxrun.

The Dark Cry of the Moon is a classic werewolf tale for fans of the old Universal and Hammer horror films. The emphasis is on character and atmosphere, not on gore. It is the second volume in Grant's acclaimed "historical horror" trilogy.

By the light of the Moon!

Historical Horror is just a great trilogy, and I hope we get more. Werewolves are my favorite since I was a kid and first saw Lon Chaney Jr transform on Abbott and Costello. This is a descendant of the old Universal monster movies, but done with respect, love, and taste. The story has an atmosphere, like a foggy night on the moors. The narration is top notch and the tale will keep you so on edge that you'll jump if your belly growls. Narration is perfect.

Classic Monsters - Fresh Tales

The second in a trilogy of classic monster tales, this werewolf period piece is both superbly written and skillfully narrated. If you think you've read/seen all the monster stories, give this one a shot, too ... you won't be disappointed.

Great, Classic, Simple Horror Story

A great little story that would make for an excellent segment on Masters of Horror.

Entertaining Monster Horror!

Good story keeping with the same classic horror story vibe as the first book. I did feel like this should have been the 1st book in this series instead of the second as many of the characters appeared in the 1st book much older. Audio narration was well done. Overall, I liked the book
