Publisher's summary

Something evil lurks in the woods, on the outskirts of town. It lives in the shadows and strikes without warning, always with the same objective: to mutilate, kill and devour its victim. A monster with a cannibalistic craving for human flesh and a sexual appetite which, seemingly, cannot be satiated.

No victim is left alive, and the scattered remains divulge very little to the police pathologist. With the body count rising, the superintendent in charge of the investigation resorts to desperate measures.

Soon, it becomes obvious that the police have woefully underestimated their suspect. A mistake which will cost them dearly...

good book

A little slow at first but actually a decent monster book. I would recommend it.

Fantastic

More please!! Loved the naration, the characters, the twists. Yes it gets a little sexually explicit but it's not a children's book after all. I can't wait for part 2 or anything else from this author and narator!

interesting

this was a very interesting read. I wish they would have given us a better idea of what it was other than some kind of man.

When I first started this book i wasnt sure id keep it but a few chapters in i was hooked! I got really good! I really liked the narrator and the story,I hope this author has more books out soon on audible. The story line and characters really held my interest and the ending definitely leaves it open for another book! Which i will definitely listen too!

Tales From The Crypt Esqe

This is a story that I can imagine being a Takes From The Crypt movie. its fun, interesting, campy, and a lil goofy. None of that is a bad thing!

great narration

Stupid story. The kind of story that makes me want EVERYONE to die in it. Annoying character that do stupid things. Cliche upon cliche plots. 3 stars because the narrator is really good. The book/Story, itself sucks.

A slog.

The narrator is atrocious, a long and steady monotone. But thats okay, because even the best narrator couldn’t save this story.

Do you like horror? Well this story has a bit of it, lurking around specific points without doing much of anything.

Do you like mystery? Well this story has a mystery, one which it cares rather little about. Instead you get to enjoy the slapdash romance between two characters you barely care to remember.

For some idiotic reason, the closest this story gets to a protagonist is the monster. Because out of the 10 hour run time, perhaps 20-25% is devoted to this creature descriptions of it wandering about. Everything else reads like a series of strange romance vignettes, where characters have relationship drama that in no way comes into contact with the overall narrative.

This is my first severely bad review. This book deserved it.

Blah

It's the most long winded and boring story I've had the misfortune to purchase from Audible. I wish they had a money back guarantee, because I want my credit back. I have 30+ titles that I've purchased from Audible and this is the worst. The only redeeming part is Michael Sharp as the narrator, but it's only the sound of his voice as the way he reads is a wonky and fast. The book is a combination of Downtown Abby and a sex scene from the Howling. Basically a werewolf learns he like to have sex and the rest of the people in town like to have tea. It's just awful.

a 3 hour story stretched into a 10 hour book

I struggled to finish this one with a story that more often then not ran in circles on itself. I was curious where I was expecting a extreme horror monster story and was disappointed that the Creeper as our monster is called was barely in the book. There are a couple good horror element parts but it was few and far between. The Creeper attacks the few that are describe okay but comes across as a Director's cut as if well it's in the description so we needed it in the story somewhere. while 2/3's of the book goes over meaningless side stories that don't really go anywhere or perhaps they did and I just feel asleep during it. it's a shame because I like the idea of this one and it just needed more of the Creeper.
