Basically a smaller version of God in the Dock

A collection Lewis’ shorter works. Much of them are found in other collections; especially God in the Dock, but if you haven’t read that, and don’t have the time for it, perhaps this would be a better “bite sized” collection

great moral compass

The last chapter on justifying infidelity because the cheater "has a right to happiness" is one of the best arguments for why cheaters really are garbage people.

The other essays are also wonderfully written and insightful, calling each person to become the best he or she can by being loyal, kind, responsible, honorable, brave, and self-controlled while seeking wisdom and justice.

Back to the basics

As always, Mr. Lewis brings us back to the foundations of the Christian faith. The farther we move away from these moorings, the greater our risk of unsound doctrine.
