Loved the combination of stories

Loved the stories, i wish thought that the killer doesn’t ‘speak’ because sometimes it gives away the killer too quickly. I would rather not know

I love these gritty, intelligent women! And Clare Corbett does an amazing performance with all the characters!

This series has become progressively tedious...

I purchased the first 3 book volume of this series because it had good reviews, is in one of my favorite genres, and it was a good deal. I didn't particularly love the main characters but the stories were ok. Now however, after finishing this volume I can't take any more. All of the supporting characters are at best 2 dimensional with absolutely no back story. I hate both MCs and I am beyond tired of hearing how worried they are for each other if one of them has more than one drink. We get it already, quit preaching at us.

Also, not every single person in the world is hiding something or is guilty of a crime. It is ridiculous for Whitney to treat everyone she talks to as a criminal. And if I have to hear one more time about her mom and brother being in care facilities due to dementia and a brain injury, or that this has to be the clue that will break the case wide open, my head might explode. Why would the author take what should be a strong female lead and turn her into a winey and angsty child?

Clare Corbett does an excellent job and I have enjoyed her wide range of accents and voices. Will definitely listen to another series if she is reading.
