Publisher's summary

Clue meets Indiana Jones with a fiction-loving twist only Grace Percy can provide.

Newlyweds Lord and Lady Astley have already experienced their fair-share of suspense, but when a honeymoon trip takes a detour to the mystical land of Egypt, not even Grace with her fiction-loving mind is prepared for the dangers in store. From an assortment of untrustworthy adventure-seekers to a newly discovered tomb with a murderous secret, Frederick and Grace must lean on each other to navigate their dangerous surroundings. As the suspects mount in an antiquities’ heist of ancient proportions, will Frederick and Grace’s attempts to solve the mystery lead to another death among the sands?

The Cairo’s Curse is a delightful sequel to The Mistletoe Countess by Pepper Basham.

Full of humor and escapades!

Excellent sequel. Grace is truly a novel-reading sleuth and finds herself in all kinds of trouble in Egypt. Will the love and protectiveness of her husband Frederick be enough to keep her safe? Love the humor and escapades. They do find themselves in danger; how can they escape? So good!! Love the narrator too…you can hear the humor in her voice at the appropriate times of course. Loved it!

Lovely adventure

This book showcases the amazing outcomes when a couple work together as equals and the terrible results of living in lies and deception. A must listen!

Daring Adventure, Swoony Romance... and Camels!

A belated honeymoon turns into a daring adventure involving murder, tombs, and Camels. And of course, kisses😍
It was fun seeing how Grace and Frederick's relationship is growing. Learning and caring more and more about each other every day.
Also caring about others along the way.
I highly recommend this book!

Grace and love

I think what I liked the best about this lovely book was Grace's beautiful character. Oh sure, she could have been different, maybe more... jealous or judgemental. But that's not Grace. I enjoyed her slight naiveté because it is absolutely refreshing. Thank you for such an enjoyable story.

Thrilling!

A thrilling sequel that will whisk you away into exotic lands, possible curses, awakening mummies and found family. This was entrancing and just what I hoped for. With faith, friendship and a bit of sleuthing, murder and mayhem are no match for our Lord and Lady. Bring along the ever loyal Elliott and it's simply superb.

I couldn't put this beautiful book down. And I adored the differences between this lovely married couple, highlighting the fact that love conquers all... Even those with wily ways and nefarious villains.

I will note that the narrator with the switching into and out of accents per character was distracting. Sometimes they had a hint of an accent, and then it would completely disappear.

Good

Not quite as endearing as the first in the series, but as full of the mischief and romance we’ve come to expect with Grace and Fredrick. The story is really quite fun!

A Fun Sequel!

It was fun to jump back into the world and new marriage of Frederick and Grace from The Mistletoe Countess. I listened to the audio book version and enjoyed the narration.

There were many side characters and I did struggle a bit to keep everyone straight in my mind. That might also have been because I was listening to the audio version rather than seeing the various names in print as I read.

The romantic chemistry was still there between Grace and Frederick, but it felt a bit more subdued to me. Yet, I could still feel their devotion toward each other. Grace’s sweet observations provided opportunities to see the faith thread throughout the story when she occasionally shared her beliefs with others in various situations.

This was a fun sequel in a unique setting and I definitely want to read more mysteries about these two, so I am glad to know that another book will be following this one.
