Publisher's summary

New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis returns to Sunrise Cove with a heartwarming story about the choices we make and the love we let into our lives...

Luna Wright is a lot of things, but sweet and trusting isn’t on the list. However, she’s a sucker for the underdog and a hard-luck story. Adopted at birth, with scant knowledge of her biological family, she’s created her own inner circle, a motley crew which includes her bestie Willow, to help her run the struggling but charming Apple Ridge Farm.

With a farm-to-table café as well as a menagerie of rescued animals (complete with a baby goat who keeps escaping to the pantry to eat the secret stash of decidedly not organic potato chips), it’s the best home she’s ever known. But when the owner Silas, who they secretly call The Grinch, passes away, Luna discovers the farm is now under control of his investment manager, the enigmatic Jameson Hayes….and her. And that Silas had many, many secrets.

Now Luna’s carefully controlled corner of the world is threatened and she—along with some help from her friends—has to dig deep to find true strength and the real meaning of love and family.

Imperfect people find each other

This is a cute story about people finding a place and people to call home. The farm setting was adorable and Jill Shalvis has a way of making quirky characters entertaining and likeable. I recommend this book.

Great Story

This is one of those reads that when you get two chapters from the end you rewind because you don’t want the story to end. I laughed throughout the entire book.

Ok this one is the best yet in this series

Hi I’m Keya 2 exits from Canada in Michigan. If you don’t know me just pull up a Jill Shalvis novel and read my review. It’s there somewhere. I wish I could tell ya I was some famous blogger, reviewer type chick- I’m just a teacher for 1st grade who gets through the year reading shalvis novels by the season. Her books hit the market in June when I’m heading to vacay or January after winter break or and don’t forget those times the preorder comes out and I look everywhere I can to get the details….. now that you know me- dudes I loved this book. It had community, family, grief, abandonment, adoption which is close to my heart- I adopted my kid as a single parent right out of college. Lots of her stories have wise, funny and surly types set on living on their own terms- this novel is no different❤️ you are gonna love Stella.. no spoilers..

Andi was an engaging narrator but also so funny- her male character voice is so smooth and sexy. She was literally 6 or 7 people by voice and they all sounded differently. Despite the holiday being over I sat huddled by the xmas tree 1.16.24 with a throw, coffee and candles enjoying this novel. First graders fresh from winter break are no picnic but somehow I got through each day with my evening dose of shalvis humor.

I love the ending, I love the women with non-traditional jobs architect, mayor, owner and the common them was/is it is okay to not be okay.

Read this feel better and maybe inspired to dig in to what you do well or switch it up❤️🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾

💕💕💕 All the hearts!

First, great heart felt story by Jill Shalvis containing the usual quirky gang of folks to help add humor and lots of love to the story. Second, Andi Arndt is a terrific narrator that never fails to help bring a story to life.

Charming and Funny!

Luna Wright has a huge heart, but don’t tell her that. Thinking herself a lone wolf with no emotional attachments, Luna has managed to surround herself with a family of her own making that includes a motley group of misfits, of both animal and human kind.
Everything is JUST FINE (just ask her) when she finds out she’s inherited half the farm she manages, and the other half is now owned by an investment manager. A numbers guy, Jameson Hayes is appalled at both the books and the insurance liability of animals roaming into all the public spaces, which includes Jameson’s lap.
I loved this book so much; I was rooting for the farm to succeed the whole time. This is the best kind of feel-good story!
As always, Andi Arndt is a terrific performer, she really can do no wrong!
