Publisher's summary

Newlyweds Brooklyn and Derek are enjoying the final days of their honeymoon in Paris. As they're browsing the book stalls along the Seine, Brooklyn finds the perfect gift for Derek: a first edition James Bond novel, The Spy Who Loved Me. When they bump into Ned, an old friend from Derek’s spy days, Brooklyn shows him her latest treasure.

Once they're back home in San Francisco, they visit a spy shop Ned mentioned. The owner begs them to let him display the book Brooklyn found in Paris as part of the shop's first-anniversary celebration. Before they agree, Derek makes sure the security is up to snuff - because, as it turns out, the unassuming book is worth a great deal more than its sentimental value.

Soon after, Derek is dismayed when he receives a mysterious letter from Paris announcing Ned’s death. Then late one night, someone is killed inside the spy shop. Are the murders connected to Brooklyn's rare, pricey book? Is there something even more sinister afoot? Brooklyn and the spy who loves her will have to delve into the darkest parts of Derek's past to unmask an enemy who's been waiting for the chance to destroy everything they hold dear.

Rarely leave a 5-star review

I really enjoyed the premise and placement of this book. Yes, it’s still a cozy mystery but it was well put together and I truly enjoyed listening to it and feeling both the sad loses and funny moments. I’ve never tried a locked room mystery adventure in real life but now I’m thinking it could be a puzzle that’s worthwhile! A good book in the series! Hope others can keep up with the mystery of what made this one tick.

Lively dialogue

I can count on Kate Carlisle to never disappoint me and THE BOOK SUPREMACY exceeded my expectations! A lively dialogue full of laughs, yet smart and kept me intrigued with every page I read.

What a fresh storyline with endearing characters anyone can relate to. Murder and rare books have a way of finding Brooklyn Wainright.

As a prior bookseller, I find it fascinating when Brooklyn repairs old books by hand. Bring a bookbinder demands a high level of skill and knowledge.

I enjoyed reading THE BOOK SUPREMACY so much I purchased the audio version. Happy reading.

Excellent

"The Book Supremacy" Is a most welcome addition to the Bibliophlea series. Marriage has not slowed down our heroes. In fact, we get a look into Derek's past as a covert operative. Kate continues to masterfully develop her characters and relationships. 13 books in and we are still very to know the main characters. This keeps these 'people'fresh and exciting. A must for any fan of this series or Kate Carlisle's books.
