Publisher's summary

"In charismatic fashion, Kreinik brings alive the world of Talamh and Breen Siobhan Kelly's journey." - AudioFile Magazine

A new epic of love and war among gods and humans, from Nora Roberts—the #1
New York Times bestselling author of The Awakening.

The world of magick and the world of man have long been estranged from one another. But some can walk between the two—including Breen Siobhan Kelly. She has just returned to Talamh, with her friend, Marco, who’s dazzled and disoriented by this realm—a place filled with dragons and faeries and mermaids (but no WiFi, to his chagrin). In Talamh, Breen is not the ordinary young schoolteacher he knew her as. Here she is learning to embrace the powers of her true identity. Marco is welcomed kindly by her people—and by Keegan, leader of the Fey. Keegan has trained Breen as a warrior, and his yearning for her has grown along with his admiration of her strength and skills.

But one member of Breen’s bloodline is not there to embrace her. Her grandfather, the outcast god Odran, plots to destroy Talamh—and now all must unite to defeat his dark forces. There will be losses and sorrows, betrayal and bloodshed. But through it, Breen Siobhan Kelly will take the next step on the journey to becoming all that she was born to be.

couldn't stop listening

I relistened to The Awakening before listening to this. The story continues without a lot of reexplaining from book 1. That's a definite plus. I loved that Marco is included and Sally is not gone. Looking forward to book 3.

Slow start, exciting finish

Picking up where it left off in The Awakening, The Becoming continues Breen’s journey to finding her purpose. This time, with the brother of her heart Marco fully aware of both of her worlds.

This has all of La Nora’s signatures: fantastic world-building, layered characterization, and lush descriptions plus inclusiveness that keeps her work current and relevant.

My biggest issue is with the slow pacing in the beginning with all the training and getting Marco caught up with the Talamh world. Once they went to the capital, the action picked up and the story got really fast-paced and exciting.

Great performance by Ms. Kreinik once more.

Narration was fantastic

As the second in the trilogy, this story line may have had a little less depth but very entertaining none the less. The narration was fantastic. Looking forward to the third installation.

amazing can't wait for more

loved it especially any parts with Marco and Bryan listening to Marco finding love over in the magical world after jumping in after his sister in all but blood swearing not to get on a dragon and then doing so and then swearing he won't ever again and Bryan seeming confident he can get his boyfriend back on a dragon again. 💙

Whiney narrator

Great story! Needs new narrator. Too whiny. Love characters. Why does review require 15 words?
