An Enjoyable if long listen

I'm the kind of person who has to watch a movie to the very end, even if it's not very good. So I stuck with this and listenend to all the books. Like almost everyone who has reviewed this series, I hated the change in narrator. And even though the David Colacci ended up narrating most of the series, I never got used to him nor liked the different accents he gave the different groups.

But the story is enjoyable, if not earthshaking, and I don't regret listening to the series. This final book ties up everyone's stories is a satisfying way.

Good ending to a great series

Great story and the Ashes of Worlds ties all of the loose ends together pretty well. The only sticking point for me was the inconsistency of the pronunciation of names and places by the narrator throughout the series.

Great story but, again, questionable narration

I reviewed a Seven Suns novel read by David Colacci before and have not much new to say. Colacci, get your voices straight... Rlinda Kett sounds like she's from Brooklyn in one book and Alabama in the next. This happens with many characters across the books... "Mr Steinman" sounds like an average old guy in one book and has a thick New York Jewish accent in another. I do recommend the series, I am just disappointed with the narration.

What a Saga!

I have never been so spellbound by a series of books as I have been by this set of seven novels. The story line was compelling, the myriad intricate plots were riveting and both narrators performed admirably.

Decent story. Good read.

The story was pretty good but the series was overall slow. I finished more for the sake of finishing rather than the need to know what happened. The reader was really good but not top notch.

Finally done.

It is always difficult to keep any series interesting or even exciting without the introduction of new characters or the invention of a magnificent plot line. Otherwise when main characters do not die despite all the odds the book (as in this series) becomes predictable & boring. I think this would have been better as a 3 book series with less characters & less "elements". I also agree that though I love a happy ending with ample allocation of "come-uppings" & "just deserves" that this final book wrapped up too neatly with too many good guys coming out on top. Also while I liked the robot factor I did not like the human emotions attributed to these robots, who could not be introspective & perhaps did not need chapters devoted to their own point of view. This series was too long, but otherwise reasonably entertaining.
