Publisher's summary

Book one in the blockbuster Maze Runner series that spawned a movie franchise and ushered in a worldwide phenomenon! And don’t miss The Fever Code, the highly-anticipated series conclusion that finally reveals the story of how the maze was built! When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his name. He’s surrounded by strangers - boys whose memories are also gone.

Outside the towering stone walls that surround them is a limitless, ever-changing maze. It’s the only way out - and no one’s ever made it through alive. Then a girl arrives. The first girl ever. And the message she delivers is terrifying: Remember. Survive. Run.

The Maze Runner and Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, and Maze Runner: The Death Cure all are now major motion pictures featuring the star of MTV's Teen Wolf, Dylan O’Brien; Kaya Scodelario; Aml Ameen; Will Poulter; and Thomas Brodie-Sangster.

Story is quite exciting and curious.

The Maze Runner is a book spilling with everlasting curiosity. Each paragraph more questionable and exciting than the other. The story itself, so perfectly crafted and exciting. The storyline is well thought of and written well. The story doesn't kick off boring and long, but strong, and transfers into the plot quite well. This story is intriguing and one that readers form a relationship with. The book gives the reader characters to root and hope for.

Great performance

Really slow burn, kind of lost me a few chapters in. It felt like everything game in the end.

Ready for the next book

I decided to check out this book because a friend posted the trailer for the moving that is coming out next month. The preview you looked very interesting and I think this is one of those books where the movie will really bring the book to life.

The Maze Runner starts off with a very confused Thomas being lifted up into the glade of the maze. When he wakes up he has no idea of what's going on and he's lost all his memories. He's very curious but has nagging feelings that he's been here before or knows more than his mind will let him trigger. He's no longer there a day when Teresa is sent up into the maze as well only she's unconscious. She gives them a message that this is the end of things and 50 young boys slowly start to get picked off one by one by the keepers of the maze. So they want a way out fast, only thing is when they get stung by a "Griever", their memories start to come back and they remember that the outside world is worse than what they are dealing with now.

It's surely to be an interesting series and I am off to read book 2, where we find out more of what's happened to the outside world.

Very intriguing and unique!

Any additional comments?

This is an interesting start to a series. It's totally unique and mysterious. Part of me hates being completely in the dark about what is going on but part of me is enjoying the unfolding of the plot piece by piece. It definitely keeps you guessing and wanting to hear more.

Narration is great!

OK

I enjoyed the book, even tho it felt like I missed a book. Felt confused like the kids in the story. I may get the next book, or may not. Definitely it is more enjoyable for teens.

Left with a lot of questions!

It was good, but I think I was a little let down. I had heard how great it was, so maybe my expectations were too high
