Now we know why

Brilliant. We know now why Aidan was “compromised” even before the accident. It’s an interesting twist to a complex storyline.

This explains so much!

If you need more illuminae files then get this. Even though it is short it is totally worth it. Explains why AIDEN is the way he is. AIDEN could make reading the dictionary sound sinister, love it!

One caveat is the background noise in some chapters is annoying and a few times almost painful. Hissing and static and high pitched noises.

Great Prequel

Provides some good insight into AIDAN before we see the story from Illuminae. Wished it had been a bit longer.

It was interesting to see how AIDAN got to be AIDAN

Stephanie la Febra’s voice acting left much to be desired, super cheesy. I did like Olivia. I also thought it was interesting Aidan became fascinated with another female character.

I loved this book!

I really loved this book! I didn't laugh or cry at anything, but if I reread it, I imagine I'd do both. So I need to buy a print edition of this book and the rest of the Illuminae Files Trilogy!

Because did AIDEN really kill Ethan and the other people who were with him to save himself/the rest of the crew? I listened, but I must have missed it if it was proved without a doubt that he did. And then Olivia was killed! I almost cried when that happened, but the book soon ended and I was fine.

So I just really love this book and series!

Wow

Wow! This brings a whole new, frightful yet amazing perspective as to how everything that happened in the Trilogy, happened! As I came to the epic conclusion of this beautifully horrifying novella, I wished I had been able to read it first before going into the main stories. It gives a whole knew perspective on the AI and its 'mental' state when it's programming was corrupted.

Fantastic!

I have been robbed of words. I pre-ordered this and have no regrets. It’s not stand alone, but the full cast audio of the series made a fantastic experience and this was a novella worthy of the love I have for the rest of the series.

All-knowing. All-important. All-absolutely-amazing!

Holy s&@$! What an incredible addition to this already sensational series! I have a renewed abundance of respect for the incomparible partnership that is Kaufman and Kristoff. I absolutely adore prequels and the insight they can provide. And when it’s unexpected, it’s even more of a delight. Here’s where we learn why AIDAN is how it is, and yet the reader can still decide whom to believe. Just like the quote above, AI and the morality of it’s ever expanding role in our lives will continue to play on my mind.
